Also， Warner was a likable and humble athlete of faith. It translated into numerous commercials deals for Mr. Warner， partly because corporations like stellar yet safe athletes that won’t taint their corporate image. If Jeremy Lin keeps it up， his personality and demeanor18) along with his talents will attract corporate coin.

Lastly， Warner’s magic touch helped revive a franchise19). The Rams were a laughing stock in the NFL since moving from L.A. to St Louis in the mid-90s. St Louis may still not be the greatest football market， but from 1999~2004 they were one of the hottest tickets in the sport in large thanks to Mr. Warner’s exploits20).

Similarly， the Knicks have been one of the least efficient teams in pro sports over the last 10 seasons. They have grossly underperformed relative to their market size， and this season they were headed for21) another year without post-season play. It’s still early， but if the team continues on the trend it has been on since Mr. Lin took over as the team’s point guard， then there will be post-season basketball (and revenue) for the Knicks organization and fans.
