Once upon a time there was a little girl who was loved by every one.She always wore a little cap of red velvet,which her grandma made for her.So she was always called Little Red Riding Hood.

從前有個可愛的小姑娘，人見人愛。她總是戴著外婆為她做的一頂絲絨小紅帽。于是大家便叫她“小紅帽”。

One day her mother said to her,“Come here,Little Red Riding Hood！ Here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine.Take them to your grandmother.She is ill and weak,and they will do her good.”

一天，媽媽對小紅帽說：“來，小紅帽！這里有一塊蛋糕和一瓶葡萄酒，快給外婆送去。外婆生病了，身子很虛弱，吃了這些就會好一點(diǎn)的?！?/p>

Her grandmother lived out in the wood.As Little Red Riding Hood entered the wood,she met a wolf.Little Red Riding Hood did not know what a wicked creature he was,and was not at all afraid of him.

外婆住在村子外面的森林里。小紅帽剛走進(jìn)森林就碰到了一條狼。小紅帽不知道狼是壞家伙，所以一點(diǎn)也不怕它。

“Good morning,Little Red Riding Hood,”said he.“你好，小紅帽，”狼說。

“Thank you,wolf！ ”“謝謝你，狼先生！ ”

“Where are you going so early,Little Red Riding Hood?”“小紅帽，這么早要到哪里去呀？”

“To my grandmother’s！”“我要到外婆家去！”

“What have you got in your basket?”the wolf asked,looking at the basket.狼一邊盯著籃子，一邊問道：“你那籃子里面是什么呀？”

“Cake and wine! ”answered Little Red Riding Hood.小紅帽回答說：“蛋糕和葡萄酒?！?/p>

“Where does your grandmother live,Little Red Riding Hood?”“你外婆住在哪里呀，小紅帽？”

“Her house stands under three large oak-trees.You surely must know it,”replied Little Red Riding Hood.“她的房子就在三棵橡樹下。你一定知道的。”小紅帽說。

“Little Red Riding Hood,how pretty the flowers are around here！ Why don’t you carry some flowers to your grandma?She will like them.”

“小紅帽，你看周圍這些花多么美麗??！你為什么不給外婆摘些花呢？她肯定會喜歡它們的?！?/p>

And so she ran from the path into the wood to look for flowers.And whenever she had picked one,she thought that she could find a still prettier one farther on.So she got deeper and deeper into the wood.

她于是離開大路，走進(jìn)林子去采花。她每采下一朵花，總覺得前面還有更美麗的花朵，便又向前走去，結(jié)果一直走到了林子深處。

Meanwhile the wolf ran straight to the grandmother’s house and knocked at the door.

就在此時，狼直接跑到外婆家，敲了敲門。

“Who is there?” asked grandmother.外婆問道：“是誰呀？”

“Little Red Riding Hood,” replied the wolf,“I am bringing cake and wine for you.Open the door,please.”是小紅帽。狼回答，“我給你送蛋糕和葡萄酒來了?？扉_門哪。”

“Liftthe latch,” called outthe grandmother, “I am too weak.”“你拉一下門栓就行了，”外婆說道，“我身上沒有力氣?！?/p>

The wolf lifted the latch,the door sprang open.And he went straight to the grandmother’s bed,and ate her.Then he put on her clothes,dressed himself in her cap,lay in bed and drew the curtains.

狼拉開了門。狼沖到外婆的床前，把外婆吞進(jìn)了肚子。然后她穿上外婆的衣服，戴上她的帽子，躺在床上，還拉上了簾子。

Little Red Riding Hood had gathered so many flowers that she could carryno more,she remembered her grandmother,and set out on the way to hers.Shewassurprisedtofindthedooropen.

小紅帽采了許多花，她都拿不了啦。這時她才想起外婆，重新上路去外婆家?？吹酵馄偶业奈蓍T敞開著，她感到很奇怪。

She went into the room and found grandma was lying in bed.小紅帽走進(jìn)房間，發(fā)現(xiàn)外婆躺在床上。

“Oh,grandmother,” she said, “What big ears you have！ ”“哎，外婆，”她說，“你的耳朵好大呀！”

“To hear you better,my child！ ”was the reply.“為了更好地聽你說話呀，乖乖！”

“But,grandmother,what big eyes you have！”she said.“可是，外婆，你的眼睛怎么這樣大呀！”小紅帽又問。

“To see you better,my dear！ ” “為了更清楚地看你呀，乖乖！”

“But,grandmother,what large hands you have！”“外婆，你的手怎么這樣大呀！”

“To hug you better！ ” “可以更好地抱著你呀！”

“Oh, but, grandmother,what a terrible big mouth you have！”“外婆，你的嘴巴怎么大得很嚇人呀！”

“To eat you！ ” “可以一口把你吃掉呀！”

And the wolf got out of bed and swallowed up Little Red Riding Hood.Then the wolf lay down again in the bed,fell asleep and began to snore very loudly.

狼從床上跳起來，把小紅帽吞進(jìn)了肚子。接著它便重新躺到床上睡覺，而且鼾聲震天。

A hunter was just passing by,and he thought maybe something had happened to the old grandma.So he went into the room,only to see the wolf.

一位獵人碰巧從屋前走過，心想：“這老太太是不是出什么事了?！鲍C人走進(jìn)屋，發(fā)現(xiàn)躺在那里的竟是狼。

The hunter wondered the wolf might have swallowed the old lady,so he took a pair of scissors,and began to cut open the stomach of the sleeping wolf.

獵人懷疑狼很可能把老太太吞進(jìn)了肚子,于是操起一把剪刀，動手把呼呼大睡的狼的肚子剪了開來。

And the little girl sprang out，and then the aged grandmother came out alive.

小姑娘便跳了出來。接著，外婆也活著出來了。

Little Riding Hood quickly fetched great stones with which she filled up the wolf’s belly.

小紅帽趕緊跑去搬來幾塊大石頭，塞進(jìn)狼的肚子。

When the wolf woke up,he wanted to run away,but the stones were so heavy that he collapsed at once,and fell dead.

狼醒來之后想逃走，可是那些石頭太重了，它剛站起來就跌到在地，摔死了。

Then all the three were delighted.The hunter drew off the wolf’s skin and went home with it.Little Riding Hood went home joyously,and no one ever did anything to harm her again.

三個人高興極了。獵人剝下狼皮，回家去了。小紅帽高高興興地回了家，從此以后再也沒有誰傷害過她。
