Percy Jones is a very successful African American banker. Right now， we find him preparing a party to celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary and renew his vow of love to his wife Marilyn. His musician daughter Theresa is still traveling to the party from New York City， together with her boyfriend Simon Green， who we are told works for a prestigious firm of stockbroker firm. After hearing of a recent assessment confirming Simon's excellent work performance， Percy is heartened2， and looks forward to meeting him. What Theresa does not tell him， however， is the fact that Simon is white.What even Theresa does not know is that Simon has just quit his job—simply because his boss told him not to marry a black girl.
