The event will be held from 19 to 25 February 2008 in Beijing， China， in the National Aquatics Center.

2. Events 事件

The 16th FINA Diving World Cup 2008 comprises the following four events for men and women: 3m Springboard， 10m Platform， Synchronized 3m Springboard and Synchronized 10m Platform.

第16屆國際泳聯(lián)跳水世界杯包括以下4項賽事：男、女3米跳板、10米跳臺、雙人3米跳板、雙人10米跳臺。

Diving is not considered to be a separate sport by its organizing body， the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA). FINA governs four forms， or disciplines， of aquatic competition - swimming， diving， synchronized swimming， and water polo. Usually the diving results are listed with those from the swimming events.

國際泳聯(lián)認為跳水并不是一項單獨的體育運動。國際泳聯(lián)負責制定4項賽事——游泳、跳水、花樣游泳和水球——的形式和規(guī)則。通常跳水的結(jié)果都是和其他游泳賽事結(jié)果一起公布的。

Olympic history-Diving 奧運跳水史話

Diving was contested at the 1904 Olympics in St. Louis， and its appearance on the Olympic program in both springboard and platform events has been continuous since 1908. The diving program has been relatively constant since 1928， with men and women competing in both the 10 meter platform and the 3 meter springboard events. Early Olympic competitions also differed in the heights of the platform and springboard.

Two new events were added to the Olympic program in 2000 for both men and women， being synchronized platform diving and synchronized springboard diving. These events consist of two divers leaving the platform or springboard simultaneously and diving together. Usually the athletes perform the same dive.

2.Good Luck Beijing好運北京:按照國際奧委會要求和北京的申辦承諾，在舉辦夏季奧運會(殘奧會)前，賽時正式使用的各場館都要舉辦一項體育賽事，對場館設施、技術(shù)系統(tǒng)、計劃方案、運行規(guī)范和保障能力等進行測試和檢驗。從2006年8月至2008年6月，將在奧運場館陸續(xù)舉辦44項好運北京體育賽事。這些比賽作為好運北京體育賽事的系列賽事，都要以“好運北京”(Good Luck Beijing)4個字予以命名。

water polo起源于19世紀60年代的英國。最初是人們游泳時在水中傳擲足球的一種娛樂活動，故有“水上足球”之稱，后逐漸形成兩隊之間的競技運動。1869年英國出現(xiàn)用小旗標定邊線和球門的水球比賽。1877年英格蘭伯頓俱樂部聘請威爾森制定世界上第一部水球競賽規(guī)則。1879年開始設置球門。1885年英國游泳協(xié)會將水球列為單獨比賽項目。1890年首先傳入美國，后又逐漸在德國、奧地利、匈牙利等國家廣泛開展。
