1. not 表示否定含義，不能單獨使用，常跟在be動詞、情態(tài)動詞或助動詞之后，構(gòu)成否定句，且經(jīng)常縮寫成n’t(除am not外)。

如：She is not （=isn’t） a student.

I can not （=can’t） swim.

They do not （=don’t） have lessons today.

2. no表示“不，沒有”。

①常用于否定回答，可以單獨使用。

如：—Are you from China?

—No，I’m from America.

②用于名詞之前，作定語，相當(dāng)于not a/an或not any。

(注：no+單數(shù)名詞=not a/an+單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞；no+復(fù)數(shù)名詞/不可數(shù)名詞=not any+復(fù)數(shù)名詞/不可數(shù)名詞）

如：There is no(=not a) student in the classroom.

There are no(=not any) apples in the box.

There’s no(=not any) milk in the bottle.

No pains， no gains. (諺)不勞則無獲。

There is no smoke without fire. (諺)無風(fēng)不起浪。

③用于一些省略結(jié)構(gòu)中，如no+名詞/動名詞，表示“禁止做……”。

Nosmoking! 禁止吸煙！

Nofishing !禁止捕魚！

Noparking!禁止停車！

Nophotos! 禁止拍照！

3． none表示“沒有任何人”或“沒有任何事”。

注意點：①作主語時，可以用作單數(shù)也可以用作復(fù)數(shù)。通常強(qiáng)調(diào)整體時用作復(fù)數(shù)，強(qiáng)調(diào)個體時用作單數(shù)。

如：Noneisright. 沒有一個是對的。

Noneareright.所有的都不對。

②none常與of短語連用構(gòu)成noneof …

如：Noneofushave/hassomuchmoney.

③none本身強(qiáng)調(diào)數(shù)量，所以常用來回答howmany/much引導(dǎo)的對數(shù)量提問的句子。

如：—Howmanybirdsarethereinthetree?—None.

—Howmuchmoneydoyouhave? —None.

4. noone表示“沒有人”，同nobody。注意點:

①作主語時謂語用第三人稱單數(shù)形式。

②不能與of短語連用（需要時可使用noneof）

③no one 或 nobody強(qiáng)調(diào)人本身，常用于回答who引導(dǎo)的問句。

如：—Whocananswerthisquestion?

—Nobody / No onecan.

5. nothing表示“沒有任何東西”，相當(dāng)于notanything。

注意點：①作謂語時，謂語可用單數(shù)形式。

如：Nothingintheworldisdifficultifyouset yourmindtodoit.世上無難事，只怕有心人。

Thereisnothingintheroom. = Thereisn’tanythingintheroom.

②不能與of短語連用。

③nothing強(qiáng)調(diào)事物本身，常用于回答what引導(dǎo)的問句。

如：—What’s in your hand? —Nothing.

用not，no，none，noone，nobody，nothing填空：
