三層意蘊(yùn),兩場(chǎng)開悟,一個(gè)簡單的漢字——“和”,勾勒出我的前二十年人生,在我心中留下了深刻的烙印。
我是安娜,一名來自俄羅斯的浙江大學(xué)留學(xué)生。
小時(shí)候隨父母移居中國。剛到中國不久的我,因?yàn)檎Z言不通,常常感到孤獨(dú)。那時(shí)候,“和”對(duì)我來說就像是一個(gè)魔法詞。
“安娜,來和我玩呀!”
這是我與“和”的故事的緣起。于是,我知道了“和”這個(gè)字的第一層意蘊(yùn)。因?yàn)檎f完“和我玩”之后,中國小朋友們就會(huì)拉起我的手,笑著跳著。而我也會(huì)逐漸和他們?nèi)跒橐惑w。試想,一個(gè)語言不通、缺乏朋友的小女孩,來到新的成長環(huán)境,面對(duì)陌生的個(gè)體,每當(dāng)聽見這一聲呼喚,該是多么地快樂、幸福。
對(duì)于年幼無知、缺乏伙伴的我而言,“和”意味著快樂、陪伴和無憂無慮。和你、和我、和大家、和他們……“和”就是一起,就是被一種溫暖的力量包圍,使我不再孤單。
時(shí)間流逝,年齡增長,我的閱歷也逐漸豐富。
當(dāng)我來到浙江,開始了緊張而又充滿挑戰(zhàn)的研究生生活后,這種領(lǐng)悟變得更加深刻。
大學(xué)與孩童時(shí)期截然不同,課程繁重,研究任務(wù)艱巨,每個(gè)人都面臨著各自的壓力。我發(fā)現(xiàn)自己很難找到那種熟悉的親密感,競(jìng)爭、比較潛藏在一切人際關(guān)系之中。在這個(gè)階段,“和誰一起”不再是簡單的邀請(qǐng)游戲。我們仿佛變成了一個(gè)個(gè)原子化的個(gè)體,緊密相連,卻又時(shí)刻保持著距離,曾經(jīng)那個(gè)能夠瞬間拉近彼此距離的“和”,似乎失去了它的魔力。
我漸漸覺得,“和”不僅僅有一層意蘊(yùn)。人人之和固然美好,但是如果只有向外賦義,不“反求諸己”,我們終究很難建立自己穩(wěn)固的價(jià)值體系,就很容易迷茫困惑,躁而不定。
于是乎,我意識(shí)到“和”的含義遠(yuǎn)不止于此。“和藹”“和睦”“和諧”“和平”。它不僅可以表示與他人在一起的狀態(tài),還代表著人與人之間美好關(guān)系的理想狀態(tài)。我開始理解“和”的深層含義。“和”不僅是與他人的物理接近,更是一種與他人的互動(dòng)相契。
所以,我找到了“和”的最終答案,既不是一味迎合,亦非自我閉鎖,而是“和而不同”!淺薄的“和異”之和固然成為童年的舊夢(mèng),固執(zhí)的“和寂”之和也不能在人群川流中立足,而中華文化所倡導(dǎo)的“和同”之和讓我找到了一處完美的平衡點(diǎn)。
在學(xué)術(shù)探討中,與同學(xué)們一起探索未知領(lǐng)域,分享知識(shí)與見解,去糟取精,得到共識(shí),這本身就是求同之“和”。在日常生活中,總有人愿意伸出援手,這種默默的支持也正因?yàn)槲覀儓?jiān)信大道“和同”。它并不僅僅是質(zhì)料意義的相聚,也不單純是形式意義的封閉,重要的是心靈的契合與共鳴。真正的“和”,需要我們?cè)谙嗷ダ斫獾幕A(chǔ)上建立起來。這意味著我們要學(xué)會(huì)放下內(nèi)心的壁壘,真誠地去接納他人,同時(shí)也勇敢地表達(dá)自我。
我恍然大悟。我在中國生活的城市、讀過的歷史、見證的時(shí)代,無不以堅(jiān)實(shí)的證據(jù)印證著“和而不同”的天下大道。
三層意蘊(yùn),兩場(chǎng)開悟,一個(gè)簡單的漢字——“和”,讓我走近中國、走進(jìn)中國!“和”字,一種讓我們能夠跨越文化和地域界限,攜手共創(chuàng)美好未來的強(qiáng)大力量。

To understand the Chinese character “和” (hé, meaning harmony) from three levels and gain enlightenment on two occasions. This simple Chinese character can sketch out my first 20 years and leaves a profound imprint on my heart.
I’m Anna, a Russian student studying at Zhejiang University.
As a child, I moved to China with my parents. Upon arrival, I often felt lonely due to the language barrier. At that time, the Chinese character “和” was like a magic word to me.
“Come and play with us, Anna!”
This invitation marked the beginning of my story with the Chinese character, showing the first layer of its meaning. After saying “play with us”, Chinese children would take my hand, laughing and jumping, and I would gradually become one with them. Imagine a little girl, unable to speak the language and lacking friends, thrust into to a new environment and surrounded by strangers. How happy and fortunate she must feel each time she was invited to play together.
For a young and ignorant girl lacking companions, the Chinese character meant happiness, companionship and carefreeness. “With you, with me, with them and with everyone.” This character means unity and a warm force that dispelled my feelings of solitude.
As time passed and I grew older, my experiences deepened.
When I came to Zhejiang and started my intense and challenging graduate studies, this understanding became even deeper.
University life is completely different from childhood. The courses are heavy, the research tasks daunting, and everyone faces their own pressures. I found it difficult to find that familiar sense of intimacy; competition and comparison lurk within all relationships. At this stage, “being with someone” is no longer a simple invitation to play. We seem to have become atomized individuals, closely connected yet always maintaining a distance. The Chinese character that once could instantly close the gap between us seemed to have lost its magic power.
I gradually felt that this Chinese character has more than one layer of meaning. Harmony among people is certainly beautiful, but if we only assign meaning externally and do not “seek it from within ourselves”, we ultimately find it difficult to establish a stable value system and easily become confused and restless.
Thus, I realized that the meaning of the Chinese character goes far beyond this. “Amiable,” “harmonious,” and “peaceful”. It not only can denote being together with others but also represents the ideal state of good relationships between people. I began to understand the deeper meaning of the Chinese character, which is not just physical closeness with others but also an interaction.
So, I found the ultimate answer to the Chinese character, which is neither merely conforming nor self-isolating, but “harmony without uniformity!” The shallow tolerance of differences might become a childhood dream, and the stubborn solitude cannot stand in the crowd. The harmony advocated by Chinese culture has led me to a perfect balance point.
The “harmony of seeking common ground” in itself can be found in academic discussions, exploring unknown fields with classmates, sharing knowledge and insights, and exploring the fundamental to reach consensus. In everyday life, there are always people willing to lend a hand, and this quiet assistance is also because we firmly believe in the idea of “harmony out of sameness”. It is not merely a gathering in a material sense, nor simply a shutdown in a formal sense, but importantly, it is the accord and resonance of the soul. True “harmony” requires us to establish it based on mutual understanding. This means we must learn to let go of the barriers within, sincerely accept others, and also bravely express ourselves.
I suddenly realized that the city in China where I live, the history I have read, and the era I have witnessed, all solidly prove the value of “harmony without uniformity”.
Three layers of meaning, and two moments of enlightenment. The simple Chinese character for harmony has brought me closer to China, into Chinese culture! The character is a powerful force that allows us to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries and join hands to create a better future.
