From November 6 to 8， Carol Robertson Lopez， Chair Emeritus of Sister Cities International （SCI）， led a delegation to Chongqing.

On November 6， Li Mingquan， Vice President and Secretary-General of Chongqing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries， exchanged with the delegation. He introduced Chongqing’s socio-economic development and exchanges with the United States. He stated that Chongqing has been fostering closer exchanges with “existing friends，” including its sister city Seattle， and enriching communication for a long time， while making “new friends” to foster a wider “circle of friends.” He expected Chair Carol Robertson Lopez to help advertise Chongqing and deepen the friendship between the Chinese and Americans， so as to bring win-win outcomes.

Carol Robertson Lopez indicated that the China-U.S. relations are like the left and right arms of a person， requiring coordinated development. She believed more Americans should visit， meet and know about Chongqing， a city where tradition and modernity blend together.

In Chongqing， the delegation also visited the Stilwell Museum， taking a stroll around the former residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell. They saw the Photo Exhibition on General Stilwell’s Life， and visited the photo and object exhibition of the U.S. Air Force Aid to China during World War II.

Carol Robertson Lopez said the museum comprehensively depicted the time when the United States and China fought together against Japanese fascist aggression， supported each other and claimed victory during the World War II. She believed the two countries would make larger achievements in cooperation.

2023年11月6日至8日，美國國際姐妹城協(xié)會榮譽主席卡羅爾·洛佩茲一行來渝訪問。

11月6日，重慶市人民對外友好協(xié)會副會長兼秘書長李明全與代表團一行交流座談。李明全介紹了重慶市經(jīng)濟社會發(fā)展、對美交往等情況。他說，長期以來，重慶積極強化與友城西雅圖等“老朋友”的交流，不斷豐富交往內(nèi)涵，也十分重視結(jié)交“新朋友”，擴大在美“朋友圈”，希望洛佩茲主席協(xié)助大力宣傳重慶，助推進一步深化中美人民友誼，實現(xiàn)互利共贏。

洛佩茲表示，美中關(guān)系就像人的左膀右臂，需要協(xié)調(diào)發(fā)展。重慶是一座傳統(tǒng)與現(xiàn)代交融的城市，更多美國人應(yīng)該到重慶來看看，認識重慶、了解重慶。

在渝期間，洛佩茲一行還前往重慶史迪威博物館、參觀史迪威將軍舊居、史迪威將軍生平圖片展、第二次世界大戰(zhàn)時期美國援華空軍圖片實物展等。

洛佩茲表示，重慶史迪威博物館全面反映了美中兩國共同抗擊日本法西斯侵略的歷史，美中兩國在二戰(zhàn)期間互相支持、攜手作戰(zhàn)，取得最后勝利。相信在未來，兩國能夠在合作中取得更大的成就。
