The bridge was designed by He Jingtang’s team， led by members of the ChineseAcademy of Engineering. His design concept shows many features of traditional?Lingnan culture. The delicate curves（曲線）of the bridge resemble waving watersleeves（ 水袖）in Yueju opera. It is like Lingnan guqin as well. In this way， thebridge successfully enriches the connotation（內(nèi)涵）of Lingnan culture.

Haixin Bridge also showsGuangzhou’s modern lifestyle， too. Itis not only beautiful and elegant， butalso functional（ 實用的）. Thereare two sidewalks on the bridge. Theshorter one is for those who are ina hurry. But you can always choosethe longer one and walk slowly， toappreciate the beauty of the Pearl River. There is a non-stop shade canopy（遮陽雨篷）on the bridge， so citizens can walk on it no matter the weather. Many advancedtechnologies can also be found there.
