設計意圖:以chant 的形式活躍氣氛,教師介紹了自己的情況并巧妙地運用序數(shù)詞穿插其中,其中的my special day 和game 為文本主題和接下來的活動埋下了伏筆。

設計意圖:以字謎的形式設計游戲,先示范,然后讓學生出題,學生在充分感知序數(shù)詞的使用情形后進一步操練鞏固,在愉快輕松的環(huán)境里突破難點。

設計意圖:教師由介紹自己引出生日的表達方法,利用對話操練句型,解決文本中的句型難點。

設計意圖:呈現(xiàn)一個總領性問題讓學生能夠整體感知課文內(nèi)容,在解決問題的同時,將文本的結構提取為what,when,how 三個方面,為接下來設置文本處理的活動指明了方向。

設計意圖:由when 到what再到how 對文本進行解讀,循序漸進。整體學習找出生日日期,小組活動自主選擇人物進行生日活動的學習。最后教師就每一個關鍵短語進行剖析,聯(lián)系學過的知識不斷追問,深入挖掘文本內(nèi)容,讓學生實實在在體會到本課的主題情境。

設計意圖:朗讀課文是新授課文教學中必要的環(huán)節(jié)。為了激發(fā)學生閱讀的積極性,讓他們自由選擇朗讀方式。復述課文部分以生日活動為主,學生根據(jù)板書回顧文本,既降低了難度,提升了學生的自信心,又很好地鞏固了文本的學習,兩個可供復述的圖形,其排版形式也為接下來的文化融合討論埋下伏筆。
4.Let’s talk
Q1: Su Hai would like some noodles while Mike would like a birthday cake.Which do you prefer? Why?(教師指著板書來說,讓學生形象地感受到吃面條和吃蛋糕的差異。)
Q2: What do you do on your birthday?
T: Well, boys and girls, I want to say having some noodles or having a birthday cake is both OK because they are both very nice! With the rapid development of our society we can do all of these things on our birthdays.They all make us very happy!
設計意圖:教師通過對比蘇海和麥克生日所吃的東西,讓學生討論喜歡面條還是蛋糕,再討論生日時會做什么事情,引導學生體會中西文化的差異與現(xiàn)代社會文化的融合,進行一次情感教育。由此引出過生日不僅在于讓我們開心,還可以讓生日變得更有意義,過渡到對繪本的回顧,進一步為本節(jié)課創(chuàng)設了主題情境。

(拓展繪本前進行簡要閱讀。教師帶著學生從泛讀理解大意到精讀學習文本內(nèi)容,最終探討主人公生日的特殊性體現(xiàn)在哪里,對繪本進行結構性的學習。此處教師帶著學生一起總結回顧,出示思維導圖,幫助厘清繪本結構。)
設計意圖:教師帶領學生回顧繪本內(nèi)容,從書本里快樂的生日過渡到對他人和自然都有意義的生日,讓學生再次感知本課創(chuàng)設的主題情境,提升主題意義。
2.Let’s discuss

T: Maybe your birthday is a special day in the society, then it’s meaningful for you and others.If your birthday is only a special day to you, you can do many meaningful things to make it a more meaningful birthday.

設計意圖:分小組討論如何度過一個有意義的生日,此項活動把對主題意義的探究權交給學生,引發(fā)他們的思考,學生在討論的過程中達到情感的共鳴,體會到有意義的生日一定是和自我、社會以及自然相連接。

點評
這節(jié)課是基于主題意義的主教材文本與繪本融合的展示課,體現(xiàn)了以下幾個方面的特點:
1.明確單元主線,設計整合性教學結構
本節(jié)課的課題為“birthdays”,筆者在設計課堂活動時,抓住了一個核心詞匯“happy”,以過生日時各種開心的事情為切入口,引領學習主教材文本,通過who,what,how 三個問題,讓學生自主探究文本中體現(xiàn)的和家人朋友一起過生日的快樂,體現(xiàn)生日的意義。繼而融入繪本,將有意義的生日進一步推進,學生情感漸入高潮,最后設計探討有意義的生日活動,教學融合水到渠成。
2.設計有效問題,引發(fā)主題情感共鳴
生日話題是每個學生都很熟悉的內(nèi)容,教者在處理蘇海的生日活動時設計了問題鏈,如:Do you keep a pet at home?并追問:What’s the name of it? Does he have dinner with you together?通過一系列的問題自然過渡到:So I think he is your family now.It’s so happy to be with our family, especially on our birthday.學生在不斷的表達與思考中,對文本有了深層次的理解,引發(fā)了強烈的主題情感共鳴。
3.創(chuàng)設主題情境,體現(xiàn)主題教育意義
教者在構思本節(jié)課的時候,充分考慮到主題為“happy birthday”,并融入了繪本“My Earth Day Birthday”,進一步挖掘、拓展和提升主題意義,并將“Happy birthday 上升為“Meaningful birthday”,體現(xiàn)了“人與自我、人與社會、人與自然”的三大主題共識。從創(chuàng)設一個愉悅自我的生日到文化融合的生日,再到服務于自然的生日的主題語境,讓學生深刻領會有意義的生日的主題意義,達成語言與價值觀的融合。
