第二天，鶴太太給狐貍先生打了一個(gè)電話。

鶴：狐貍先生，我是鶴太太。謝謝你昨天招待的午餐。

Mr. Fox rushes to Mrs. Crane's house. Hesmells fish outside the house.

Fox： I can smell fish， my favorite dish. I'm so hungry.

（Mr. Fox wets his mouth and strokes his stomach. ）

Mrs. Crane opens the door.

Crane： Mr. Fox， welcome！ You came very quickly. Are you hungry？

Fox： Yes， I am. Can we eat now？

Crane： Of course. I'll bring in the fish right away.

Mrs. Crane brings in the fish from the kitchen. But the fish is not on a plate. It is inside a long narrow bottle. Mr. Fox looks surprised. His eyes are about to pop out.

Crane： That's too bad. Fox： I must go home now.

Crane： Good-bye， Mr. Fox！ Come again！ Ha， ha， ha. . .

Mr. Fox rushes home in shame. Mrs. Crane sees Mr. Fox running away and keeps on laughing.

狐貍先生快速?zèng)_到鶴太太的家。他在屋子外聞到了魚(yú)的香味。

狐貍：我可以聞到魚(yú)的香味，我最愛(ài)吃的東西。我好餓呀！

（狐貍先生舔了舔嘴巴，還拍了拍他的肚子）

鶴太太開(kāi)了門。

鶴：狐貍先生，歡迎，歡迎！你來(lái)得好快呀。你餓嗎？

狐貍：對(duì)呀，我餓了。我們現(xiàn)在可以吃了嗎？鶴：當(dāng)然，我馬上就把魚(yú)端出來(lái)。

鶴太太從廚房里端出了魚(yú)。但是并不是放在盤子上。而是在又長(zhǎng)又窄的瓶子里頭。狐貍先生看起來(lái)非常吃驚。他的眼睛快要爆出來(lái)了。

鶴：讓我們吃吧。嗯……好吃，對(duì)不對(duì)呀，狐貍先生？

狐貍：看起來(lái)不錯(cuò)。

鶴：但是為什么你不吃呢？狐貍：我會(huì)的。

狐貍先生試著要吃魚(yú)，但是他卻無(wú)法將它們從又長(zhǎng)又窄的瓶子中取出。狐貍先生有的是短短的嘴巴和舌頭。他認(rèn)識(shí)到自己錯(cuò)了，而且不能說(shuō)什么。

鶴：這真是世界上最好吃的魚(yú)了。我要再來(lái)一些。你呢，狐貍先生？

狐貍：不了，謝謝。我想我肚子有點(diǎn)痛。

鶴：真糟糕。

狐貍：我必須回家了。

鶴：再見(jiàn)，狐貍先生！下次再來(lái)??！哈，哈，哈……

狐貍不好意思地沖回家。鶴太太看著狐貍先生跑掉了，她不停地笑著。
