哥特蘭島上有多達(dá)94座的中世紀(jì)教堂遺址、遺跡，其中，17座坐落在島上的中心城市維斯比。維斯比因保存良好的中世紀(jì)古城而聞名，1995年被聯(lián)合國教科文組織評為世界文化遺產(chǎn)，是宮崎駿電影《魔女宅急便》中克里克城的原型。城市周圍環(huán)繞著由石頭構(gòu)筑的城垣，城垣自13世紀(jì)晚期興建，14世紀(jì)又經(jīng)加高加固，成為高12米、長3.5公里、有44座造型雄偉塔樓的環(huán)城城墻。歷經(jīng)600余年的風(fēng)雨，城墻至今仍保存完好，壯觀無比。

穿過塔樓的拱門，便可進(jìn)入童話般的古城內(nèi)：曲折的鵝卵石街道、彩色的木頭小屋、滄桑的教堂遺跡和陡峭的小山，不時還會看到美麗的波羅的海。

從1984年開始，每年的第32周是維斯比最熱鬧的節(jié)日——中世紀(jì)周。人們會身著中世紀(jì)服裝，在古老的維斯比城內(nèi)，搭建中世紀(jì)集市，開展騎馬比武、街頭表演等有趣的項目。所以，想要體驗中世紀(jì)文化的朋友，一定不能錯過8月份的維斯比中世紀(jì)周。

夏日的哥特蘭島本身就是一道風(fēng)景。每年7月初，瑞典的黑夜時間就縮短為兩到三個小時，晚上10點，這里仍有充足的陽光。原本寒冷的波羅的海，在夏日變得溫暖，人們在海水中自在地游泳。大片的落日余暉灑向海灘，追逐著嬉戲的人們。不遠(yuǎn)處，三三兩兩的人坐在礁石上，吹著清涼的海風(fēng)，望向無邊無際的海面。在海與天的交際處，偶爾有船的影子掠過，耳邊不時傳來海鳥的鳴叫聲……一切靜謐而美好。沉浸在這樣的夏日風(fēng)景里，怎能不流連忘返。

Summer in Gotland

In the Baltic Sea， about 60 miles off the south coast of Sweden， there is a mysterious and beautiful island—Gotland.

On the island， there are 94 medieval church ruins and sites， 17 of which are located in Visby， the central city of the island. Famous for being a well-preserved medieval city， Visby was rated as a world heritage site by the UNESCO in 1995. The city is surrounded by a stone city wall， which remains intact despite undergoing over 600 years of wind and rain.

The 32nd week of every year is Visbys most lively festival—Medieval Week. During the festival， the natives will wear medieval costumes， set up a medieval fair in the old town of Visby， and enjoy jousting， street performance and other interesting activities. So， if you want to experience the medieval culture， you must not miss Visbys Medieval Week in August.

In summer， Gotland itself is a sight. In early July every year， Swedens darkness is shortened to two or three hours. Even at 11 PM， there will still be ample sunlight. The cold Baltic Sea gets warmer in summer days， and people can enjoy swimming in it. The setting sun casts vast areas of light on the beach， chasing the frolicking people. In the near distance， people sit on the rocks in twos or threes， looking out over the endless sea in the cool sea breeze. Occasionally， you might see a boat floating where the sea meets the sky， or hear the chirping of seabirds from time to time... The scene is quiet yet pleasant. Immersed in such summer scenery， how can you not linger on？
