On January 1， Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co.， Ltd.， a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation， and CSSC China Shipbuilding Trading Co.， Ltd. signed the delivery of the 210，000 dwt Newcastlemax bulk carrier "ALPHA TROPHY" tailored for Greek Alpha Bulkers， which is the first ship completed and delivered by a Chinese shipbuilding enterprise in 2022， achieving a good start and opening a new journey of China's shipbuilding industry in 2022.

The "ALPHA TROPHY" is independently developed and designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding， with an overall length of 299.88m， a molded breadth of 50.00m， a molded depth of 25.20m， and a speed of 14.5 knots， which meets the IMO TIER III emission standards and the latest HCSR requirements， and is classified with DNV and CCS. The ship is a star product of leading technical performance， environmental protection and energy saving， popular with domestic and foreign customers， and honored with China's "manufacturing single champion product" and Chinese ship export "First Brand" of the largest international market share and other titles.

In the past 2021， under the guidance of the CSSC high-quality development strategy outline， Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding adhered to the development strategy of "cruise ship-led， one body and two wings"， focused on key projects and fields around the annual "synergy and innovation" management theme， deeply benchmarked against worldclass ships， continuously improved efficiency and benefits， and presented a gratifying scene of large cruise ships， marine engineering and civil ships going neck and neck， and achieved a good start in the corporate high-quality development of the “14th Five-Year Plan”.

In 2021， China's first largescale cruise ship built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully achieved the milestone nodes of whole ship link-up and floating in the dock， and comprehensively transited segmentation into the "second half" of the interior decoration and system completion and commissioning from the "first half" of structure and outfitting construction， taking another key step towards the overall goal of completion and delivery in September 2023.

Last year， Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully delivered the 500th ship， with a total of 89.68 million dwt completed， achieving an average annual delivery of 27.8 ships and 4.982 million dwt， ranking first in China and ranking among the forefront in the world. In the whole year of 2021， the company achieved the delivery of 20 ships (units) and 2.838 million dwt， completing the annual delivery target of two and a half months ahead of schedule， and the total number of completions continued to rank among the top of China's major shipbuilding enterprises.

Last year， Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully undertook 26-ship newbuilding orders for 7000TEU container ships， with an accumulation of 30-ship handheld orders， ranking first in the world. At the same time， orders for the large cruise ship No. 2 and the FAST4WARD "General Purpose" FPSO vessel No. 4 came into effect.

In terms of informatization， Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's newgeneration integrated digital interconnection platform SWS-TIME， enterprise-level "5G + Industrial Internet" platform， office business "One Netcom Office" system， intelligent logistics platform came into comprehensive applications， and achieved efficient collaboration of civil ships， offshore and cruise product manufacturing. In addition， the company transformed the excellent management experience and ideas of enterprises from invisible knowledge reserves into explicit knowledge wealth， realized the efficient reuse and value addition of enterprise knowledge assets， and helped build new advantages in market competition， e.g.， the first development and application of knowledge management platform (SWS-KM) in the shipbuilding industry， and the launch of knowledge engineering project (Phase I).

Throughout last year， Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding continued to participate in the development of international， national and industrial standards at all levels， realizing the interactive development of standard construction and scientific and technological innovation. One national standard primarily compiled by the company was released， project approval of 3 group standards was obtained， China's first ballast water management system international standard whose development the company participated in was successfully released， and "Load test method for casing tensioner for jack-up drilling platform" won the highest award in China’s intellectual property rights field - China Patent Award.

In 2022， China's first largescale cruise ships will fully enter the "deep water zone" of the interior decoration and the system completion and commissioning， the company's large cruise ship No. 2 will lay down， dual-fuel civilian ships will be delivered in a concentrated fashion， and 7000TEU container ships will also be built continuously. In the new year brimming with opportunities and adjustments， Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will focus on the new management theme of "refining the system， creating new management and controlling methods"， strengthen bottom-line thinking， adhere to self-revolution， accelerate the pace of digitalization， informatization and intelligent transformation， comprehensively win the three major battles -- "large-scale cruise ship storming battle"， "dual-fuel ship annihilation battle" and "container ship opening battle"， continue to promote the deep implementation of the development strategy of "cruise ship-led， one body and two wings"， and make new contributions to the scientific and technological innovation， transformation and upgrading and high-quality development of China's shipbuilding industry.
