Editor’s Note:One century ago, the Communist Party of China （CPC） was born at the Red Boat.Since then, people’s well-being and national rejuvenation have become a gene of the CPC.Since then, an ambitious blueprint of turning the poor and backward old China into an increasingly prosperous and powerful new China has been charted.Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core has renewed commitment to the people-centered philosophy and the new principles of innovative, coordinated, green, open, and shared development and led China to scale historic development achievements.Recently, China declared a complete victory in its fight against poverty.The dream of shaking off absolute poverty long awaited by Chinese people has come true and their sense of gain, happiness and security has significantly increased.That’s why the leadership of the CPC can gain trust and support from common people.Politicians and political parties’ representatives from many countries have spoken highly of and expressed support for the CPC’s governance philosophy and China’s prosperity and development.

Malaysia is one of the first countries expressing support to the Belt and Road Initiative and will continue to do so.For Malaysia, the initiative means not only infrastructure construction, but also an important link to enhance connectivity and people-to-people bonds with China.As COVID-19 continues to ravage the world, the important role of the initiative in promoting regional development is gradually hammered home.Only through close cooperation can worldwide countries resolve a global crisis like COVID-19.

Behind the dramatic changes China has achieved over the past decades are the proper policies implemented by the CPC, such as its reform and opening up.China has achieved great success in social and economic development, involving fields of poverty reduction, environmental protection, economic growth and containment of the COVID-19 pandemic.These successes have not been given to them by anyone, but have been achieved thanks to the success of the leaders, to the ability of the Communist Party of China to lead the people.
