A Thank-you Letter

“Are you writing a thank-you letter to Grandpa like I told you？”

“Yes， Mum.”

“Your handwriting seems very large.”

“Well， Grandpas deaf， so Im writing very loud.”

“你是在按照我說的給爺爺寫信感謝他嗎？”

“是的，媽媽?！?/p>

“你的字好像寫得太大了?！?/p>

“嗯，爺爺?shù)亩洳缓?，所以我寫得大聲點(diǎn)兒?！?/p>

Is Ink So Expensive？

Son： Is ink so expensive， father？

Father： Why， son， what makes you think so？

Son： W... well. Mother seems quite disturbed because I spilled some on the carpet.

墨水很貴嗎？

兒子：爸爸，墨水很貴嗎？

父親：不貴呀，你為什么這么想？

兒子：哦，我把墨水灑了一點(diǎn)在地毯上，媽媽好像挺著急的。

Its Not My Fault

“Arent you ashamed of yourself， Victor？ Youre the worst pupil in your class，” said the father.

“Whats that got to do with me？ Is it my fault that the worst one was yesterday transferred to another school？” was the answer.

這不是我的過錯

“維克多，你是班里最差的學(xué)生。你不覺得害臊嗎？”爸爸說。

“這能怨我嗎？誰讓昨天最差的一個轉(zhuǎn)到另一所學(xué)校去了呢？”維克多回答。

The Result of Laziness

Mother： Why were you kept after school today， Johnny？

Johnny： Teacher told us to write an essay on “The Result of Laziness”， and I turned in a blank sheet of paper.

懶惰的結(jié)果

媽媽：約翰尼，你今天放學(xué)以后為什么被留下了？

約翰尼：老師叫我們寫一篇題為：“懶惰的結(jié)果”的作文，我交了一張白卷。

Clever Bobby

Brown was very proud of his young son. Once he was talking to a visitor， telling the man how clever his son was.

“The boy is only two years old，” he said， “and knows all animals. Hes going to be a great naturalist. Here， let me show you.”

He took a book of natural history from the bookshelf， placed Bobby on his knee， opened the book and showed him a picture of a giraffe.

“Whats that， Bobby？”

“Horsey，” said Bobby. Next of a tiger was shown， and Bobby said， “Pussy.” Then Brown showed Bobby a picture of lion， and Bobby said， “Doggy.” And when a picture of a chimpanzee was shown， Bobby said， “Daddy！”

聰明的博比

布朗非常欣賞他的小兒子。一次他和一位客人聊他的兒子有多聰明。

布朗說：“他只有兩歲，就認(rèn)識所有的動物了。他長大后一定會是一個出色的自然學(xué)家。來，我讓你看看?！?/p>

他從書架上拿下一本自然書，把博比抱到膝上，打開書。指著一張長頸鹿的圖片。“博比，這是什么？”

“馬馬，”博比回答。他又指了一張老虎的畫片，博比回答說：“貓咪。”然后布朗又指了一張獅子的圖片，博比說：“狗狗。” 他又指了一張黑猩猩的圖片，博比說：“爸爸！”
