Abstract：Some people think English grammar is not very important in learning English， some think opposite， no matter how they like it， English grammar is about the rules of language， just like the rules in games. If we wish to play a game well and win it， we need to know the rules of a game. The same is to the learning of English grammar， it is as important and interesting as playing a game.

First， We need to answer this question， that is， What is Grammar？ Grammar is， as we know， a branch of linguistics， whose task is aimed at the study of the pronunciation， classification of words， including word formation， the relationship among words， the functions of the words in a sentence， the formation， structure， classification and nature of a sentence， rules in using words and making sentences with words， etc.

Second， we need to know why we must learn English grammar and need to answer the question， that is， Is grammar learning important？ The answer is Yes. English grammar is just like traffic rules， and we must follow them without doubt， we need to know when we should stop and when to go when walking on the road， or we will fall into trouble. English grammar is some rules which guide us to use words correctly and express our ideas properly. When learning English， if we do not have some ideas about its rules， then obey them， we may easily make mistakes in using words， making sentences and expressing ourselves.

Third， we need to know what are the skills in learning English grammar， in other words， how to learn English grammar and make learning more effective. In my opinion， I suggest that students should first throw away the negative idea of dullness in learning English grammar; Second， take positive attitude to learning it; Third， develop interest in it; Fourth， build up confidence in learning English grammar; Fifth， do as many exercises as possible， including listening， speaking， reading and writing， which are the basic skills in language learning and the necessary abilities students should develop. Grammatical exercises are the most important things for students to do if they wish to get good grades in the test. In fact， a grammatical exercise usually covers many language points， and students can obtain much grammatical knowledge by doing the exercise. Therefore， if students wish to be a good language user， they should be an effective language learner， and to be an effective language learner， then to be a good user， they must do a lot of practice. Students should always keep in mind “Practice makes perfect”. Where there is no pain， there is no gain. The more students practise， the better they use the language. By doing different exercises， students can， on the one hand， review different grammatical knowledge; on the other hand， they can also improve their language using skill， lay a firm foundation for language， and finally reinforce it.

To make a conclusion， to make grammar learning more effective， students should have a positive attitude and the will to accept it， just like a dish， no matter whether it is delicious or not， we should take it when we think it is what our body needs， and we will feel hungry if we dont eat it. English grammar is about the rules of language， we must follow its rules to be a good language user， English grammar is as important and interesting as playing a game. So， no matter how dull grammar learning is， we should make up our mind to learn it well， that is what we do， we have no other choice.
