The Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expohas shed light on the strong recovery momentum inChina's tourism sector in the post-COVID-19 era.Tourism projects involving 17.5 billion yuan ($2.7billion) of investment were inked at the expo, itsorganizers have said.The event in Xi'an, capital ofNorthwest China's Shanxi province and home to theTerracotta Warriors, was attended by more than 800tourism firms and institutions from China, as wellas diplomats and exhibitors from 15 countries andregions.Despite the decreased scale of the exhibitiondue to COVID-19 restrictions, booths were crowdedand exhibitors noted the great enthusiasm of tourists.

Behind the unmanned deliveries is alsobroader momentum from Chinese companies in revvingup autonomous driving commercialization, especiallyafter recent increases in driverless applications."Whileplayers such as (United States-based) Waymo arehalting their robotaxi pilots during the pandemic, over30 companies are deploying autonomous deliverysolutions in China," said Bill Russo, founder ofShanghai-based consultancy Automobility."
