From the Anhui industrial and agricultural production exhibitions at the beginning of the founding of the People’s Republic of China to the World Manufacturing Conference that attracted the attention of the world， from Xiaogang Village in Fengyang at the beginning of the Chinese economic reform to the rapid social and economic development of Anhui since the 18th CPC National Congress， many unforgettable moments of the past have been recorded in these precious photographs. China’s first train wheel was made at Maanshan Iron and Steel in 1963. The first train arrived at Ningguo city after the opening of the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway in 1974.The Jinzhai Road Viaduct in Hefei， the first urban viaduct in Anhui Province was constructed in 2007. The first “Hexie” bullet train of Hening Railway in Anhui Province departed in 2008. Fuziling Reservoir in Huoshan was the first dam in New China.

When people see emerging highways， bridges， and tall city buildings， their faces are brimming with happy smiles. In remote mountain areas， as viaducts were erected and tunnels were opened， people were no longer blocked by high mountains. Water conservancy facilities on the Huaihe River tamed the flooded water and made both sides a happy place to live and work. Diversion of the Yangtze River to Huaihe River and West-to-East Power Transmission provides a reliable guarantee for social development. The book reveals the people’s unity in the face of disasters， moving stories in ordinary life， and people’s efforts and progress in ordinary work.
