11月11日，重慶四面山少林寺，一片明媚的陽光灑在大雄寶殿前的廣場上。一群少林武僧圍成一圈，掌聲和喝彩聲不絕于耳。圈子最中心，來自薩摩亞的年輕小伙寇迪正甩開膀子揮舞一支牧羊鞭。

每當(dāng)牧羊鞭舞出“啪”的脆響聲，寇迪就會吼出一聲“中！”“中”，是寇迪半個多月前跟一位少林武僧新學(xué)的口頭禪。

On November 11， as sunshine sprinkled on the square in front of the Grand Hall of the Shaolin Temple in Simian Mountain， Chongqing， a group of Shaolin monks gathered in a circle， clapping and cheering all the time. At the center of the circle， Cody， a young man from Samoa， was stretching his arms and waving a shepherd’s whip （muyang bian in Chinese）.

Whenever the shepherd’s whip created the crisp sound of "Pa"， Cody would shout "Zhong！"， a new catch phrase he learned from a Shaolin monk more than half a month ago.

“少林寺，請教我‘康夫’”“Shaolin Temple， please teach me‘Kangfu’ ”

“中不中？”寇迪收起牧羊鞭，雙手抱拳，身邊圍攏的少林武僧們紛紛豎起大拇指，武僧阿飛尤其感到意外。

原來，牧羊鞭是阿飛的拿手好戲，師兄弟中能把牧羊鞭揮響的也不多，誰知寇迪初次練習(xí)就把鞭子甩得啪啪作響，這讓阿飛在驚奇之外甚至有一絲絲失落。

雖說這是寇迪第一次到重慶四面山少林寺，但寇迪與阿飛早在半個多月前就已經(jīng)成了好友。在10月25日舉行的重慶英領(lǐng)館20周年嘉年華觸式橄欖球錦標(biāo)賽上，作為重慶游騎兵橄欖球俱樂部的教練，寇迪被應(yīng)邀到現(xiàn)場交流的四面山少林寺武僧們的武術(shù)表演深深吸引。

武術(shù)表演一結(jié)束，寇迪就朝武僧們大喊：“嘿，少林寺，請教我‘康夫’?！笨艿系闹形挠行┐?，夾雜了句“功夫”的英文單詞“Kung fu”。

阿飛是當(dāng)時唯一允許帶手機(jī)的武僧，見寇迪對武術(shù)感興趣，就和他加了微信好友，并相約11月11日在四面山少林寺見面，武僧們教寇迪“康夫”，寇迪則教武僧們打橄欖球。

這期間，寇迪和阿飛在微信上聊得火熱：武僧們給寇迪發(fā)練功的視頻，寇迪就回復(fù)他在健身的視頻；武僧們給寇迪秀肌肉，寇迪就直接回復(fù)自己八塊腹肌的照片；當(dāng)武僧們告訴寇迪準(zhǔn)備熄燈睡覺時，寇迪還會調(diào)皮一下，秀出自己在九街喝啤酒的照片……

"Zhong （Not bad ）" Cody folded up the shepherd’s whip and cupped one fist in the other hand. The monks gathered around gave him thumbs-up one after another. Afei was especially impressed.

It turned out that playing the shepherd’s whip was Afei’s specialty， and few of his disciples could wave the shepherd’s whip and make the sound. However， Cody swung the whip with sound the first time he played， making Afei even a little bit frustrated.

Although this was Cody’s first visit to Shaolin Temple in Simian Mountain， Chongqing， Cody and Afei had become good friends more than half a month ago. As the coach of Chongqing Rangers Rugby Club， Cody was deeply attracted by the martial arts performance of Shaolin Temple monks in Simian Mountain who were invited to the scene to exchange at the 20th Anniversary Carnival Touch Rugby Championship held by the British Consulate in Chongqing on October 25.

As soon as the martial arts performance was over， Cody shouted to the monks， "Hey， Shaolin Temple， please teach me Kangfu." Cody’s Chinese accent was not that authentic， and affected by English word "Kung Fu"， he misprounced Chinese as "Kang Fu".

Afei was the only martial monk allowed to bring a mobile phone on that day. Seeing that Cody was interested in martial arts， he added Cody as a friend on WeChat and made an appointment to meet him at Shaolin Temple in Simian Mountain on November 11. The martial monks would teach Cody "Kangfu" while Cody agreed to teach the martial monks how to play rugby.

Before the appointment， Cody and Afei often chatted on WeChat： when the monk sent Cody videos of exercising， Cody would reply and send videos of him exercising. When the monk showed Cody the muscles， Cody sent pictures of his eightpack abs. When the monk told Cody to turn off the lights and go to bed， Cody would be naughty and show photos of himself drinking beer on 9th Street...

拜師學(xué)藝舞大刀Learn How to Play Broadsword（Dadao） from Teachers

一到四面山少林寺，寇迪感覺什么都新鮮，他興奮地把橄欖球往空中一拋：“我太喜歡這里了，這里很中國，和電影《少林寺》一模一樣?！?/p>

還沒等寇迪欣賞夠山上的風(fēng)景，武僧們就把他拉到了練功房?？艿峡吹阶呃鹊膲ι蠌堎N有武僧練功的照片，就迫不及待地一招一式模仿起來。

“想學(xué)哪個？我們教你?！卑w問寇迪。

寇迪指著一張武僧頭頂?shù)氐沽⒌恼掌f：“這個好，酷?！?/p>

年齡最小的武僧栗子龍眉飛色舞地說，“這個小意思，換一個，我們每天都練，我都能立半小時。”聽到這里，寇迪驚訝得張大了嘴，仔細(xì)打量起栗子龍的頭：“看起來和我的一樣，怎么這么厲害。”

在練功房，一整排兵器讓寇迪很新鮮，除了常見的刀槍劍戟，還有九節(jié)鞭、月牙鏟等。武僧們各自選擇拿手的兵器演示了一番，看得寇迪眼花繚亂，最后他選了大刀：“這個很酷?！?/p>

那把大刀分量不輕，大約有二十斤重。寇迪扎起馬步，雙手舉刀，跟在師傅釋理杰法師身后一招一式比劃起來。一套刀法下來，雖然依樣畫葫蘆學(xué)得有模有樣，寇迪還是連連叫苦：“好難、好難?！?/p>

As soon as he arrived at the Shaolin Temple in Simian Mountain， Cody was curious about everything. He got very excited and threw the rugby into the air： "I like this place so much. It is very Chinese， just like the movie Shaolin Temple."

Before Cody could enjoy the scenery on the mountain， the monks took him to the training room. While seeing photos of monks practicing on the wall of the corridor， Cody couldn’t wait to imitate these actions one by one.

"Which one you want to learn， we will teach you"， said Cody.

Cody pointed to a picture of the monk standing on his head and said， "This is amazing， how cool it is."

The youngest monk Lizilong said with a smile of exultation， "A piece of cake. Change into something difficult. We practice this every day and I can stand on my head for half an hour." Hearing this， Cody’s jaw dropped and examined Lizilong’s head carefully： "It looks the same as mine. Why is it so awesome "

In the training room， a row of weapons piqued Cody’s curiosity. In addition to the common swords and halberds， there were also nine-section whips and crescent moon spades. The monks each chose their own weapons to demonstrate， which dazzled Cody. Finally， he chose a broadsword and exclaimed， "This is cool."

The broadsword was quite heavy， weighing about 20 kg. Cody stood in a horse stance， raised his broadsword with both hands， and then followed his Master Shi Lijie， one move at a time. Although he followed the same pattern and learned it well， Cody complained repeatedly： "It’s way difficult， way difficult."

教武僧打橄欖球Teach Monks How to Play Rugby

體驗(yàn)過少林功夫，寇迪開始琢磨如何教這群武僧橄欖球：“橄欖球和中國功夫很像，都講究速度、敏捷，同時還要有好的身體素質(zhì)。”

“接球！”在大雄寶殿前，寇迪發(fā)出一聲聲指令，專挑刁鉆的角度扔球。武僧們身手敏捷，盡管是第一次接觸橄欖球，但無論角度多刁鉆，他們都能準(zhǔn)確將球接住。這讓寇迪格外驚訝，“武僧們學(xué)得很快，尤其是練習(xí)傳球很有默契，又準(zhǔn)又快?！?/p>

于是寇迪有了不少新想法：“我在想怎樣把少林功夫和橄欖球融合到一起。他們很厲害，身體比我軟，能把腿放到頭上，這樣打球不會受傷。他們跳得也很高，躲閃速度還很快，如果用功夫來打橄欖球，效果一定不錯?！?/p>

訓(xùn)練結(jié)束，寇迪將帶來的兩只橄欖球送給了武僧們。他還特地詢問了住持常賢法師，能不能讓武僧們平時多練練橄欖球基本功。

常賢法師不僅贊同，還回贈了寇迪一柄北斗七星劍，寇迪興奮地請求武僧們在微信上教他劍法。

回程路上，寇迪反復(fù)詢問：“我應(yīng)該把劍掛在辦公室，還是掛在床頭呢？”人還未回到主城，寇迪手握寶劍的圖片就已經(jīng)出現(xiàn)在朋友圈里。晚上九點(diǎn)過，寇迪又給我們發(fā)來消息：“辟邪劍譜厲害么？好多朋友問我要不要學(xué)它?！?/p>

After experiencing Shaolin Kung Fu， Cody began to ponder how to teach these monks rugby："Rugby is very similar to Chinese Kung Fu. They all emphasize speed， agility and good physical quality."

"Catch the ball ！" In front of the Grand Hall， Cody issued orders and threw the ball from sharp angles. The monks were agile. Although it was the first time they played rugby， they could catch the ball accurately no matter how sharp the angle was. Cody was quite impressed. "The monks learn very quickly， especially when practicing passing the ball， they’re well coordinated， and can catch the ball with great accuracy and speed."

Then Cody came up with some new ideas："I’m thinking about how to combine Shaolin Kung Fu with rugby. They are awesome. Their bodies are softer than mine， and they can put their legs on their heads so that they won’t get hurt when playing. They also jump very high and dodge very fast. If they use kung fu to play rugby， I suppose they can play extremely well."

At the end of the training， Cody gave the two rugby balls to the monks as the gifts. He also asked the head monk Chang Xian Master if he could let the monks practice more basic rugby skills when they were free.

Master Chang Xian not only agreed， but also gave Cody a Big Dipper Sword in return. Cody excitedly asked the monks to teach him sword skills on WeChat.

On the way back， Cody repeatedly asked，"Should I hang my sword in the office or at the bedside " Before he returned to the city， the picture of Cody holding a sword was posted in the WeChat Moments. At nine o’clock in the evening， Cody sent us another message： "Is the Apotropaic Sword Manual really powerful Many friends asked me if we need to learn it. "
