2019年7月3日，百度AI開發(fā)者大會(huì)上，正在侃侃而談的李彥宏突遭潑水，這位總裁隨即飆出一句英語：Whats your problem？ 個(gè)別聽眾將其誤解為“你有什么問題？”，而很多英語工作者聞此語后則不禁感嘆：這位技術(shù)大拿的英語竟然也如此地道！

原來，按照《牛津高階英漢雙解詞典》的說法，“Whats your problem？” is used to show that you think sb is being unreasonable，是認(rèn)為對(duì)方不講道理時(shí)的一種用語，相當(dāng)于漢語的“你怎么了？”或“你有病吧？”。其用語之犀利絲毫不遜于其技術(shù)！

李總裁之問中的problem雖然不是“問題”之意，但足以說明很多普通人望文生義是有問題的。這主要是因?yàn)?，大多?shù)情況下，漢語中的“問題”的確嚴(yán)絲合縫地對(duì)應(yīng)英文的problem， 例如：

1. 切實(shí)解決自身存在的突出問題

effectively solve major problems within the Party

2. 解決人民群眾反映強(qiáng)烈的突出問題

solve problems of major concern to the people

3. 我們黨面臨著許多嚴(yán)峻挑戰(zhàn)，黨內(nèi)存在著許多亟待解決的問題。

Our Party faces many severe challenges as well as many pressing issues within the party that need to be addressed.

如果說在第3例中，“問題”之英文既可用issue，也可用problem，那么在下例中，用且只能用issue：

During the meeting， Xi also reiterated the position of the Chinese government on the Taiwan issue， urging the United States to stick to the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques.

會(huì)談中，習(xí)主席重申了中國(guó)政府關(guān)于臺(tái)灣問題的立場(chǎng)，要求美方恪守一個(gè)中國(guó)原則和中美三個(gè)聯(lián)合公報(bào)規(guī)定。

為什么會(huì)如此呢？原因在于，漢語中的“問題”，既可以指“困難、麻煩、矛盾”，也可以指“需要研究討論并加以解決的議題”。“反映強(qiáng)烈的問題”顯然屬于前者，而“臺(tái)灣問題”則屬于后者。君不見，論及“臺(tái)灣問題”，英語媒體罕見the Taiwan problem之說。

不過，像第3例那樣，在表示困擾人的“問題”時(shí)，problem和issue都可以使用，再如：

錢不是問題。

Money is not an issue / a problem.
