1. When is your birthday， Linda？

琳達(dá)，你什么時候過生日？

“When is ones birthday？”是詢問某人生日是何時的句型。如：

When is your birthday， John？

約翰，你什么時候過生日？

when 可以用來對年、月、日等時間提問，回答時用介詞in，on，at加具體時間。如：

—When do you go home？

你什么時候回家？

—I usually go home at six oclock.

我通常6點鐘回家。

—When do the tourists go to Hainan Island？

游客一般什么時候到海南島游玩？

—They often go there in summer.

他們經(jīng)常夏天去那里。

2. My birthday is on May 2nd.

我的生日是5月2日。

（1）birthday意思是“生日”。當(dāng)祝賀別人的生日時，我們常說：Happy birthday to you！意為“祝你生日快樂！”外國人在過生日時經(jīng)常會舉行一個birthday party（生日聚會）來進(jìn)行祝賀。

—Today is my birthday.

今天是我的生日。

—Happy birthday to you！

祝你生日快樂！

（2）當(dāng)別人問：When is your birthday？時，我們可以回答：My birthday is...，也可以用：Its...。當(dāng)日期具體到某一天時要用介詞on，on在此句型中可以省略;若只是說在哪個月，或哪一年時，介詞用in。如：

My birthday is （on） October tenth.

我的生日在10月10號。

Tree Planting Day is in March.

植樹節(jié)在3月。

3. When is your fathers birthday？

你爸爸什么時候過生日？

fathers是名詞father的所有格形式，意思是“爸爸的……”。名詞所有格是由“名詞 + s”構(gòu)成的，譯為“……的”。其具體用法如下：

（1）名詞單數(shù)加s，若名詞單數(shù)以s結(jié)尾，則所有格可加s，也可直接加。

This is my uncles bedroom.

這是我叔叔的臥室。

That is Dennis backpack.

那是丹尼斯的背包。

（2）以s或es結(jié)尾的名詞復(fù)數(shù)只加 。

These are students textbooks.

這些是學(xué)生的課本。

These two sweaters are the twins.

這兩件毛衣是雙胞胎的。

（3）如果事物或人是兩個名詞共同所有，則在后一個名詞上加 s。

This is Lucy and Lilys room.

這是露西和莉莉的房間。

Miss Green is Lin Tao and Lin Fans teacher.

格林小姐是林濤和林帆的老師。

（4）如果事物或人是兩個名詞分別所有，則在每一個名詞后分別加 s。

These are Lucys and Lilys desks.

這些是露西和莉莉的書桌。

4. How old are you？

你多大了？

how old對年齡提問，回答時常用句型：Im + 數(shù)詞./Im... years old.如：

—How old is your brother？

你的弟弟多大了？

—Hes only five （years old）.

他只有5歲。

—How old are you？

你多大年齡了？

—Im eleven （years old）.

我11歲。

注意：在講英語的國家，可以詢問孩子的年齡，但對于成年人一般不直接問及年齡，尤其是女士。問女士的年齡被認(rèn)為是不禮貌的，而且對方也不予回答。

序數(shù)詞

在英語中表示順序、次序的詞稱為序數(shù)詞。最基本的序數(shù)詞如下表：

1.序數(shù)詞的構(gòu)成：

一般在基數(shù)詞后加th，如：four→fourth，thirteen→thirteenth，多位數(shù)把個位變序數(shù)詞。

2.基數(shù)詞變序數(shù)詞：

基數(shù)詞變?yōu)樾驍?shù)詞的規(guī)則（口訣）：

基變序，有規(guī)律，詞尾加上 th;

一、二、三特殊記，結(jié)尾t、d、d。

八減t，九減e，f要把ve替;

ty把y改為i，記得th前有個e。

3.序數(shù)詞的用法：

（1）the+序數(shù)詞，表示“第幾”。如：

John lives on the fifteenth floor.

約翰住在十五樓。

（2）年、月、日的表達(dá)。年用基數(shù)詞表示，日用序數(shù)詞表示。如：

May 1st， 2018? 2018年5月1日
