O n July 17,2016,Shennongjia was included on the World Heritage List and honored as a“World Natural Heritage Site.”It is the first site in China and the second worldwide which is simultaneously listed by UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere Programme(MAB),World Geopark,and World Heritage.

At the same time,Shennongjia Forestry District has obtained over ten honors as a protected area at the international,domestic,and provincial levels,such as a Ramsar Site of International Importance,National Nature Reserve,National Geological Park,National Wetland Park,National Forest Park,Tourist Attractions Rated as 5A,and National Ecological Demonstration Area.

Shennongjia was recommended by National Geographic magazine as“a place of a lifetime,”and was selected as one of the“50 most worthwhile places for foreigners to visit in China”by Global Joumal together with the foreign envoys and media in China.

On August 22,2018,at the 2018 World Slow City Alliance Annual Meeting held in Mirande,France,Songbai Town(a town in Shennongjia Forestry District,Hubei Province)won the title of an“International Slow City,”which is the ninth in China and the first international slow city in Hubei Province.The title can be regarded as another world-class business card of Shennongjia.

2016年7月17日，神農(nóng)架被列入《世界遺產(chǎn)名錄》，榮膺“世界自然遺產(chǎn)地”稱號(hào)，成為中國(guó)首個(gè)、世界第二個(gè)獲得聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織人與生物圈保護(hù)區(qū)、世界地質(zhì)公園、世界遺產(chǎn)三大保護(hù)制度共同錄入的“三冠王”名錄遺產(chǎn)地。

同時(shí)，神農(nóng)架林區(qū)還擁有國(guó)際重要濕地、國(guó)家級(jí)自然保護(hù)區(qū)、國(guó)家地質(zhì)公園、國(guó)家濕地公園、國(guó)家森林公園、國(guó)家5A級(jí)景區(qū)、國(guó)家生態(tài)旅游示范區(qū)等十余項(xiàng)國(guó)際國(guó)內(nèi)和省級(jí)保護(hù)地頭銜。

神農(nóng)架被美國(guó)地理雜志推薦為“人一輩子不得不去的地方”，被《環(huán)球游報(bào)》及海外駐華使節(jié)和駐華媒體評(píng)選為“中國(guó)最值得外國(guó)人去的50個(gè)地方”之一。

2018年8月22日，在法國(guó)米朗德舉行的2018年世界慢城聯(lián)盟年會(huì)上，湖北神農(nóng)架林區(qū)松柏鎮(zhèn)獲得“國(guó)際慢城”稱號(hào)，這是中國(guó)第9個(gè)、湖北省首個(gè)國(guó)際慢城，也是神農(nóng)架斬獲的又一張世界級(jí)名片。
