◆語篇導(dǎo)讀

每個(gè)人小的時(shí)候，都會有許許多多的夢想，如想成為教師、明星、科學(xué)家或是宇航員……“我”小時(shí)候有什么樣的夢想呢？“我”一直都在堅(jiān)守“我”的夢想嗎?有什么經(jīng)歷影響“我”的夢想嗎？“我”對夢想有什么不一樣的見解嗎？

As children，we all dream of what we want to be when we grow up.Often，many young children will say that they want to be actors or singers，pop stars or models.Some will say that they want to become teachers，firefighters，police officers.Others want to be astronauts，scientists or explorers.

When I was younger，I wanted to be afashion designer.I went to London Fashion Weekend，the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and worked very hard at school to get good grades.At first，Iapplied to studyfashion design at university.When I got there，I hated the course.For some reason，which is still unknown to me，Ino longerwanted to become part of the fashion industry.

I now study French，but I still don't know what I want to do when I finish university.This year，I have been working as a language assistant.Over the past seven months，I've taught English tohundreds ofstudents.I've shared my culture with them;it's been a truly great experience.At the start ofthe year，some students wouldn't dare to say a word;now，it's as though they're different people.Wonderful as this experience has been，I'm still not sure that I want to go into teaching.

I think that our choices canbe deeply influenced byour parents.Some parents only want their children to study subjects like engineering（工程學(xué)），maths，science or medicine.This can make young peoplefeel pressured into studyingcertain subjects，which can be stressful.

There's no hurry to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life.There's always time topursue a different career path！

◆典句賞析

1.As children，we all dream of what we want to be when we grow up.作為孩子，我們都夢想著長大后我們要成為想成為的人。

這是一個(gè)復(fù)合句，what為連接代詞，引導(dǎo)賓語從句且與be構(gòu)成系表結(jié)構(gòu)；when在這里意為“當(dāng)……時(shí)候”，引導(dǎo)的是時(shí)間狀語從句。

2.Wonderful as this experience has been，I'm still not sure that I want to go into teaching.盡管這次的（教學(xué)）經(jīng)歷令人愉快，但是我仍然不確信我會把它當(dāng)成我想從事的職業(yè)。

as意為“盡管；雖然”，引導(dǎo)的是讓步狀語從句。as引導(dǎo)的從句多位于主句之前，而且必須使用倒裝語序，即將從句的表語、狀語或謂語動詞的一部分置于句首。

3.Some parents only want their children to study subjects like engineering，maths，science or medicine.一些父母僅僅想讓他們的孩子學(xué)習(xí)諸如工程學(xué)、數(shù)學(xué)、科學(xué)和醫(yī)學(xué)等專業(yè)。

want their children to study subjects為動詞want的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)，to study subjects是動詞不定式短語作復(fù)合賓語。英語中，像want這樣可以接動詞不定式作復(fù)合賓語的動詞有很多，如ask、allow、advise、wish、force、get、teach、encourage、inspire、order、invite、need等。
