“加油”，是一個(gè)在國(guó)內(nèi)被人們廣泛使用用來為其他人鼓勁助威或表示支持的短語，目前已被收錄入最新版本的牛津英語字典。“加油”這個(gè)短語從字面上理解就是給某些引擎機(jī)器加入汽油，而中國(guó)人在比賽或競(jìng)賽中常常大聲喊出這個(gè)短語來鼓勵(lì)參賽者。牛津字典給“加油”的定義中提到這個(gè)短語的發(fā)音來自粵語“ga yau”，并且提到香港英語中最早使用add oil表示加油可追溯到1964年。
