Hello everyone！

First of all， on behalf of China National Textile and Apparel Council， I would like to extend my warmest welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the guests and friends of the press who attended the Press Conference of 2018 World Textile Merchandising Conference！

2018 World Textile Merchandising Conference is to be held at the 40th anniversary of Chinas reform and opening up. After 40 years of opening practices， Chinas textile industry has achieved world-renowned achievements and has become a key force supporting the healthy and smooth operation of the world textile industry system and an important industrial platform for promoting global economic and cultural cooperation. As China enters a new era of reform and opening up， the industry is constantly expanding the breadth and depth of its openness， and its links with the world and its contribution to development will become more prominent.

The current world economic structure is undergoing structural changes， the replacement of the old economic growth driver with the new one as well as the international pattern and power contrast is accelerating， and the global governance system is profoundly reshaped. The global textile industry chain， value chain and innovation chain are intertwined， and various problems are brought together； the new industry entrance， new model and new interface are constantly emerging， and the original industrial ecology is in flux and deconstruction. Uncertainty and instability in the industry development has increased significantly. Great opportunities and big changes are very rare， while big adjustments and big leaps are very difficult. Structural changes require us to promote the openness of the industry， deepen the multi-dimensional responsibility and common governance， and achieve common prosperity of the industry with a positive attitude and practical actions.

Taking this opportunity， I would like to communicate with you about the “four adherences” to achieve highquality development in the textile industry.

First， facing the future， we must adhere to the principle of excellence， connectivity， and openness to shape a new pattern.

If the industry wants to grow， it must advance in the logic of historical progress and develop in the trend of the times. If there is no way out， only opening can make development. It is necessary to coordinate and promote the “bring in” and “go global” of the industry， strengthen the open cooperation of innovation capabilities， actively promote cross-border flows of resources such as products， production capacity， technology， capital， and talents， and fully integrate and utilize global resources to achieve coordinated development.

Second， facing the future， we must adhere to be innovation-driven and brave in practice， injecting new growth driver with science and technology.

To strengthen product innovation， advance the R&D; of key common technologies and leading edge technologies， improve the application of relevant results in products， enhance product development capabilities； To promote model innovation， continuously change production models and operating models relying on Internet of Things， big data， AI and other technologies， so as to promote the industrys intelligent and service-oriented transformation； To optimize the innovation environment and gather innovative resources， not only to enhance the ability of independent innovation， but also to strengthen the ability of collaborative innovation.

Third， facing the future， we must adhere to mutual learning and mutual understanding， and inclusiveness， leading the new development with fashion.

Based on the genetic roots of culture， to deepen the exploration， research and application of cultural elements， enrich product categories， enhance cultural value， aesthetic value and market value. A new fashion value proposition is derived from communications. Relying on the innovative carriers and high-quality windows such as the textile merchandising cluster， to accept the cultural wisdom of all parties， build a common language， promoting the new development of the industry with new connotations of fashion.

Fourth， facing the future， we must adhere to green development， responsible and shared governance， creating new space with green.

Taking green raw materials， green design， green production and recycling as the starting point， we will establish responsible R&D; system， procurement system， production system and logistics system to enhance sustainable development capability. And we will strengthen the concept of green low carbon cycle development and deepen people-oriented， environment-oriented， and market-oriented responsibilities， to integrate green value into the Belt and Road construction， and create a new space for the industry.

As a 100-billion industrial cluster on a piece of cloth， Keqiao is Chinas largest textile enterprise gathering place， Chinas most authoritative textile index publishing place and the worlds largest textile trade distribution center. It has strong traffic advantages and brand advantages. Every year， $10 billion worth of textiles are shipped from here to all parts of the world， bringing people a warm and beautiful life. The World Textile Merchandising Conference settled in Keqiao， which will surely attract global attention， incite more markets and bring more opportunities. For the convening of the Conference， there are reasons to be full of expectations！

“Nothing， not even mountains and oceans， can separate people with shared goals and vision.” I believe that with the opportunity of the World Textile Merchandising Conference， the exchange and cooperation of the global textile industry will be closer.
