六月,南山一片蔥蔥郁郁。陳寶華和他的工人們,在這里已守候了6個年頭。
2012年,陳寶華帶二十名工人從北京來到重慶,在南山深處開始了純手工家具雕刻的“慢時光”。
一筆筆、一刀刀,木匠師傅們每年僅能制作出五六件大家具。即便如此,陳寶華也從未考慮過擴(kuò)大規(guī)模,而是追求在技藝上的不斷突破。
In June, Nanshan is covered with verdant and thick vegetation. Chen Baohua and his craftsmen have stayed here for six years.
Together with twenty craftsmen, Chen has come from Beijing in the year of 2012 and begun his slow handmade work of furniture sculpture in the remote Nanshan of Chongqing.
Carving subtly, these craftsmen can only make five or six large furniture each year. Yet, Chen goes after the improvement in artistry rather than the enlargement of his business.
畫圖、打坯、修光,家具廠里的每個師傅都能獨(dú)立完成一系列木工活。圖案畫好后,師傅們便需要依據(jù)圖案,匹配出紋路合適的木料。
打坯時,師傅會將圖紙覆在木材上。對于成熟的木雕師傅,所要雕刻的圖案早已爛熟于心,圖紙更多的是提供一個大致空間布局的參考。
打坯完成后,木料進(jìn)入修光環(huán)節(jié)。通常,修光的時間,會是打坯的兩倍。即便是熟練的工匠,做淺浮雕的修光,每天能完成的工作量,通常不會超過一個巴掌大小。相較于淺浮雕,深浮雕的制作更為耗時,做深浮雕的修光,每天能完成的,僅有幾厘米見方的大小。
Plotting, hitting the billet and polishing, every craftsman is capable of completing a series of woodwork by himself. After the plotting, craftsmen need to find timber with suitable lines according to the pattern.
These craftsmen will cover the pattern on the timber while they are hitting. Nevertheless, experienced masters of wood carving are so familiar with the design to be engraved that they only need to glimpse the pattern roughly.
Polishing comes after hitting of the timber, which will cost double time compared with the latter. The daily workload of polishing basso-relievo is not bigger than a palm even for a proficient master. Compared with bassorelievo, deep relief is more time-consuming and can be finished for a square of a few cm every day.
從2016年開始,陳寶華給自己設(shè)了一項(xiàng)新的挑戰(zhàn),計(jì)劃用15年時間,完成1000個雕有大足石刻千手觀音的木盒,用六毫米的深度,展現(xiàn)出千手觀音的立體感。
兩年過去了,陳寶華和工匠們僅完成了100個,他希望,每完成100個,雕刻的工藝都有新的飛躍。
在幽靜的南山,木雕工匠們,用手中的刻刀,將時間濃縮進(jìn)了毫厘之間。
In the year of 2016, Chen set himself a challenge. He decided to complete 1000 wooden boxes carved with Thousands- Hand Kwan-yin of Dazu Rock Carvings. Six millimeter should be carved in order to reveal the vivid third dimension of Thousands- Hand Kwan-yin.
In the past two years, Chen and other craftsmen have only worked out 100 boxes. He hopes that the craft skill can have a new jump when 100 boxes are completed.
