酒商的劫后重生

A Wine Dealer's Revival

1863年，法國酒商丹尼爾 Daniel Nicholas Thévenon 為了躲避巴黎窮追不舍的債主，攜妻來到了英格蘭。兩年后的1865年，經(jīng)過深思熟慮， 他在倫敦攝政街南端建了一個酒館，取名為 Café Royal。酒館的位置視野開闊，其弧形柱廊和露臺在那個年代還是十分新穎的設(shè)計，以致之后一百多年來一直是攝政街的地標(biāo)性建筑。

后來，是Daniel 的好女婿善于管理和經(jīng)營，把這個家族的事業(yè)推上了新的巔峰，而他自己也不閑著，請來住在法國勃艮第的表兄弟尤金 Eugène Delacoste，一位享譽(yù)盛名的葡萄酒專家，用挑剔的味蕾為 Café Royal 的酒窖親自配選佳釀。至此，Café Royal這個名字已經(jīng)家喻戶曉，到 19 世紀(jì)末，這個聲名卓著的本土原生酒館，已被公認(rèn)為擁有世界最佳酒窖之一。

酒店中最負(fù)盛名的Oscar Wilde Bar始建于1865年，更是Cafe Royal傳奇的名片，因為大作家奧斯卡·王爾德Oscar Wilde在這個房間愛上了年輕詩人阿爾弗萊德·道格拉斯勛爵，由此發(fā)生之后驚天動地的奇戀； 搖滾巨星大衛(wèi)·鮑伊David Bowie則在此舉辦了聞名一世的“最后晚餐”派對； 還有甲殼蟲披頭士和伊麗莎白·泰勒曾一起熱舞到天亮。

那個璀璨幻彩的年代，那時的英格蘭頂級故事，Café Royal似乎都是無從躲避的參與者；而酒店臨街的咖啡館The Café，則見證過無數(shù)具有深遠(yuǎn)意義的談話，記述了無數(shù)創(chuàng)作靈感的迸發(fā)，大文豪蕭伯納、詩圣威廉·巴特勒·葉芝，以及偵探小說家柯南道爾等都是這里最忠誠的?？汀Ｔ?jīng)，有多少個杯墊，多少張餐巾紙，成為文豪們筆下的記錄者。

In 1863， a French wine merchant called Daniel Nicholas Thévenon and his wife Celestine arrived in England in a bid to escape the clutches of creditors in Paris. Daniel changed his name to Daniel Nicols. In 1865， he had conceived and established the place on London's Regent Street called the Café Royal， the now famous sweeping， colonnaded Nash terrace was still relatively novel and continues to be a signature feature in central London.

Daniel's son-in-law took the family business to new heights， and By the end of the century the Café Royal was renowned as a truly remarkable and original establishment with what was considered at one point to have the greatest wine cellar in the world.

Throughout the ages， Café Royal was the epicentre of fashionable London. Welcoming famed patrons， from royalty and celebrity， to the creative and the notorious， it has been an established and iconic landmark on the capital's social scene， for over a century.

The famous Oscar Wilde Bar was first built in 1865 as Grill Room， is the name card of Cafe Royal. Oscar Wilde fell in love with his Bosie right in this room； David Bowie opened his 'The Last Supper' party here； Beatles and Elizabeth Taylor danced here until morning. And the legendary The cafe have seen numerous profound conversations， inspirations and discussions.

一個戲劇性的復(fù)出

A Dramatic Return

百年已去。2012年12月，優(yōu)秀的英國建筑設(shè)計所David Chipper field 受托的酒店翻修設(shè)計工程大功告成，Cafe Royal以皇家凱馥酒店Hotel Cafe Royal為名正式重新開張。重修后的Cafe Royal擁有160間客房和套房，那幾個滿載歷史傳奇的餐廳、酒吧和咖啡館也隨之重返舞臺。是啊，當(dāng)?shù)貓蠹埦蛯afe Royal的再度開業(yè)稱之為“一個戲劇性的復(fù)出！”。

建筑設(shè)計師為這座老建筑融入了現(xiàn)代的風(fēng)格，但在公共空間里保留了 19 世紀(jì) 60 年代直到20 世紀(jì) 20 年代的那種歷史風(fēng)貌，以求在向傳統(tǒng)致敬和時尚選擇之間達(dá)到一種盡量完美的平衡，來自 Donald Install Associates 公司擅長修復(fù)歷史建筑的先生們功不可沒；而在酒店房間與套房的設(shè)計中，設(shè)計師則力求展現(xiàn)整體內(nèi)斂簡約的當(dāng)代風(fēng)格，但同時又用石材與銅質(zhì)綴出古典美學(xué)的痕跡，呼應(yīng) Cafe Royal 輝煌的歷史。

Hotel Cafe Royal，從此更加寧靜而自信、華貴而脫俗。

After restored by David Chipperfield Architects， Cafe Royal reopened as Hotel Cafe Royal in December 2012. The new Cafe Royal has 160 suites and rooms， meanwhile， its restaurants and bars that full of history are also reopened. The local newspaper call this reopening \"a dramatic return\".

David Chipperfield has achieved a perfect balance between contemporary style and the retained grand historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s， which have been painstakingly restored in collaboration with historic building architects； The serene rooms and suites have been created in a modern and sophisticated style characterised by a refined simplicity touched with grand classical features in stone and copper.

中國音樂家與百年歷史酒店的“音緣”

When Chinese Musicians Meet Cafe Royal

2017年11月，《酒店精品》和皇家凱馥酒店聯(lián)合邀請中國著名音樂家組合“三美杰”： 小提琴家呂思清，大提琴家秦立巍，鋼琴家孫穎迪，在倫敦演出期間入住酒店，完成了一次難忘的深度體驗。三位中國音樂奇才長年在世界各地演出，不僅是空中常客，更下榻難以計數(shù)的酒店，旅途中的美好住宿對音樂家來說就像一段溫暖和舒緩的樂章，尤為重要，更值得回味。

In November 2017， Hotel Elite Magazine and Hotel Cafe Royal invited the famous China Trio—Violinist Lv Siqing， Pianist Sun Yingdi， and Cellist Qin Liwei to experience this beautiful hotel during their tour in London.
