伊東豐雄，出生于1941年。1 965年畢業(yè)于東京大學(xué)建筑系；1 965-69年任職于菊竹清訓(xùn)建筑設(shè)計(jì)事務(wù)所；1971年創(chuàng)辦名為都市機(jī)器人(URBOT)的設(shè)計(jì)事務(wù)所；1979年事務(wù)所更名為伊東豐雄建筑設(shè)計(jì)事務(wù)所。

他是眾多獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)的獲得者:英國建筑師皇家學(xué)會皇家金質(zhì)獎(jiǎng)?wù)? 第22屆高松宮殿下紀(jì)念世界文化獎(jiǎng), 第13屆威尼斯雙年展金獅獎(jiǎng)(場館獎(jiǎng)), 普利茲克建筑獎(jiǎng)等。

他的代表作品有：仙臺媒體中心(日本), 多摩美術(shù)大學(xué)圖書館 (日本,八王子校區(qū) ), Porta Fira 酒店(西班牙), 今治市伊東豐雄建筑博物館(日本),臺灣大學(xué)社會科學(xué)院大樓(中國臺灣), 大家的森林:岐阜媒體中心(日本),臺中歌劇院(中國臺灣) 等。

Toyo Ito was born in 1941. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1965 and worked in the oきce of Kiyonori Kikutake until 1969. In 1971, he founded his own oきce Urban Robot (URBOT),which was renamed Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects in 1979.

He is the recipient of many awards, including Royal Gold Medal from The Royal Institute of British Architects, The 22nd Praemium Imperiale in Honor of Prince Takamatsu, Golden Lion for Best National Participation for the Japan Pavilion from the 13th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale (served as Commissioner), The Pritzker Architecture Prize,etc. Among his best-known buildings are Sendai Mediatheque (Japan), Tama Art University Library (Hachioji campus, Japan), Torres Porta Fira (Spain), Toyo Ito Museum of Architecture,Imabari (Japan), National Taiwan University, College of Social Sciences (Taiwan), ‘Minna no Mori’ Gifu Media Cosmos (Japan), Taichung Opera House (Taiwan), etc.
