As a methodology for the modernization of Chinese Philosophy,Prof.Cheng Zhihua proposes “to innovate by complying with the root” that is different from Neo-Confucianism’s “to innovate by returning to the root”.It could be summarized in the four steps:exploring the way (the study of Neo-Confucianism); complying with the root (the study of the ancient Chinese philosophy);seeking the common (to compare philosophies of China and the West) and innovating (to construct a philosophical theory).He has constructed a Chinese philosophical ontology of “one noumenon with two forms” or “one noumenon with three forms”.Prof.Cheng’s approach of “to innovate by complying with the root” is important for the modern development of Chinese philosophy.Of course,the deeper reason needs “to trace to the source”,i.e.to reveal the transformation of social lifestyle as the source.

Based on the enterprise resource theory and upper echelons theory and using 515 listed small and medium firms,the paper studies the relations among entrepreneurs’ risk-preference and education,firm’s R&D investment and innovation performance with method of hierarchical regression.It also analyzes the technological innovation differences between family and state-owned firms.It finds out that firm’s innovation performance is positively related to the entrepreneurs’ risk-preference and R&D investment.Entrepreneurs’ risk-preference is a semi adjustable variable in the relationship between firm’s R&D investment and innovation performance,especially for the entrepreneurs who have higher level education and more rational risk-preference.Moreover,there are significant differences between the family and state-owned enterprises concerning the moderating effect of entrepreneurs’ risk-preference and education on firm’s R&D investment and innovation performance.

Considering the mechanism of banking behavioral regulation,the paper builds an asymmetric game model between the regulatory authorities and banking institutions,studies the replicator dynamics and evolutionary stability of the improvement of their strategies,finds out four necessary conditions and key factors to eliminate dishonest behaviors of banking institutions,analyses the impact mechanism of the factors with Matlab simulation,proposes the strategy to improve banking behavioral regulation.The paper concludes that,because of bounded rationality,dishonest behaviors of banking institutions are hard to eliminate;however,it will work by reducing the cost of honest behavior and behavioral regulation,increasing banking institutions’ perception of regulatory punishment and social costs and paying more attention to behavioral regulation and regulatory punishment.

In order to provide better protection for the equal rights of minorities,the United States began to implement affirmative action since the 1960s.However,while giving the minorities preferential treatments in college enrolment and public project bidding,the policy has been questioned about its justification and legitimacy by people who consider affirmative action as”reverse discrimination”.Firstly,by discussing the moral individualism behind reverse discrimination on the philosophical level,the paper discusses whether affirmative action is reverse discrimination.Then,it discusses whether affirmative action violates the citizen’s inherent rights on from the perspective of right.Finally,it discusses whether affirmative action violates the equal public policy protected by U.S.constitution from the perspective of procedural justice. These analyses indicate that it is untenable to think affirmative action is unjustifiable and illegal only because it may be suspected of causing reverse discrimination.
