如果這座公園要與巴塞羅那的大花園媲美，那么它的設(shè)計和位置就要求公園有更大的尺度，因為與它相連的是斜街和方格街，而最重要的是它直通海灘……這座大公園與周圍的大街相通……公園的設(shè)計能促進(jìn)與城市的交流。它有許許多多的小徑，猶如大樹的枝杈，伸向四面八方。這條樹狀大街是一條干道，將斜街與附近的海灘連在一起；由人行橋跨過海濱環(huán)路，形成許許多多的休閑道：人們可以在那里散步、玩滑板、騎自行車……還有一大片水域，里面有許多噴泉和滑水道，岸邊還有植物給水體供養(yǎng)。

在創(chuàng)作的過程中，立體維度只存在于設(shè)計者的頭腦中。建筑需要圖像元素來表達(dá)，并分為垂直和水平線條來說明。有些建筑師用草圖作為表現(xiàn)所需的手段，有些人則用圖紙表達(dá)創(chuàng)造力、敏感和情感，而表現(xiàn)它們的是形體、活的空間：建筑。這就是已故的埃里克·米拉萊斯的對海公園城市綜合體設(shè)計圖給人的感受。為了表現(xiàn)這個只存在于想象中的巨大空間，他需要100張草圖和平面圖，在困惑的時候進(jìn)行解釋。這種抽象表達(dá)帶來的不僅是一系列復(fù)雜的技術(shù)圖紙，還有藝術(shù)價值很高的圖像資料。草圖，就要一而再，再而三。□（尚晉 譯）

If the park has a scale comparable to the grand gardens of Barcelona its design and situation obliges it to increase in scale because of its connection with La Avinguda Diagonal, Carrer Taulat and above all, to direct connection with the beach… it is a large park which stretches out forwards the adjacent avenues…its design favours an interaction with the city. It is ordered by following a series of paths which, similar to the branches of a tree, which spread out in all directions…

A type of Rambla, a main thoroughfare, connects La Diagonal directly to the nearby beach, crossing the Litoral ring by means of a pedestrian bridge, and it transforms itself into a series of recreational tracks: for strolling, skating, cycling, walking, etc., a large area of water in which there are various fountains, the leap of water and the vegetation on its edges oxygenates the water.

In the creative process, the third dimension only exists in the mind of the one who designs it. The architecture needs graphic elements to be expressed. Needs to be divided in vertical and horizontal lines to self-explain. Some architects use sketches as needed tool of representation, and others transmit on drawings the creative force, the sensibility and the emotion that will be materialised trough the volume, the living space: the architecture. This is what the senses realise looking to the drawings that the disappeared Enric Miralles produced on the design the urbanistic complex of the Diagonal Mar Parc.To represent this huge empty space that only existed in his imagination, he needed a hundred of sketches and plans, that once was discomposed where capable to explain it.This abstract projection results in not just a complex series of technical drawings, but a graphic documentation with a very important artistic value. Drawing another time, and again, and then to redrawing it.□
