《哈利·波特》（Harry Potter）是英國作家J.K.羅琳（J.K.Row ling）于1997～2007年所著的魔幻文學系列小說，共7部。其中前6部以霍格沃茲魔法學校（Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry）為主要舞臺，描寫主人公——年輕的巫師學生哈利·波特在霍格沃茲前后六年的學習生活和冒險故事；第7部描寫的是哈利·波特在第二次巫界大戰(zhàn)中四處尋找魂器并消滅伏地魔的故事。

A‘real-life Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’is set to open in the UK where students can learn spells and‘encounter magical creatures’.

Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex has organised the magical three day event,which is aiming to give muggles the chance to experience what it would be like to be a witch or wizard.Students can enrol from 11th-13th August 2017 when the 15th century castle opens its doors to the public.

The three-day experience aims to recreate the magical school from Harry Potter as closely as possible,so students w ill be sorted into one of four houses before competing against each other.They will also get to take part in lessons to learn spells,potions and other kinds of witchcraft,and even have the chance to‘encounter magical creatures’(unfortunately just actors in costumes).All meals are included and there’s a big banquet at the end of the stay to celebrate the house that emerges as the w inner of three days of competition.The experience is for over 18s only and it’s not cheap.The three nights w ill set you back between 440 pounds-450 pounds.

On the website,the event is described as follows:“You’ll stay for 3 days, full board,and be sorted into your house,take part in lessons,attend a banquet, explore the grounds and meet weird and wonderful creatures.”“A ll of this takes place in our enchanting 15th century castle.The event runs much like a murder mystery.You’ll be given a role to play and a story w ill unfold around you where you have to interact with other characters.It’s just just like being in a movie or video game.”“We’ll provide the robes,so all you’ll need is a wand and good humour.If you’venever experienced anything like this before,don’t worry.You can get as much or as little involved as you like and we will have all you need to have a great time.”

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is the British wizarding school,located in the Highlands of Scotland.It takes students from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,and Ireland.

The castle is located in the mountains near a loch.The precise location of the school could never be uncovered because it was rendered Unplottable. To Muggles the school looks like an old abandoned castle.Sim ilarly,most wizarding schools locations are protected in order to prevent their ways of teaching being revealed,as well as protect the students and schools themselves from any harm.

Established around the 10th century,Hogwarts is considered to be one of the finest magical institutions in the wizarding world,though other notable schools included Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and the Durmstrang Institute.
