Hidden Figures

Nominated the best supporting actress, the best adapted screenplay, and the best film, Hidden Figures was the black horse at the 2017 Oscars. It shows the race and gender issues in the form of comedy. It tells the story of a team of African-American women mathematicians, Katherine Johnson played by Taraji P. Henson and Mary Jackson by Janelle Monáe, who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the US space programme and won the respect of skeptics.
