In the long grass in a great calm①

a tiny②man

listens to the fl ow③of time

and eyes the clouds.

Summer is great, the sky is bright,

all is still there,

but already in another calm ——

Utterly④other. And he notices⑤: in

the grass lies⑥a man

like a dark dot⑦or a comma⑧in a picture of time.

在深草中，在廣大的平靜里，

一個渺小的人
