一、教學內(nèi)容
本課的教學內(nèi)容是《牛津高中英語》模塊八第二單元Reading Turandot in Beijing(圖蘭朵在北京)。本單元主要介紹西方音樂及其發(fā)展史,歌劇作為一種重要的音樂形式,深受廣大人民的喜愛。本課是某音樂雜志一名英國記者對1998年張藝謀導演的在紫禁城上演的歌劇“Turandot”的評論。學生對歌劇這種西方的音樂形式普遍比較陌生,而對中國導演張藝謀導演的歌劇充滿好奇。這一課會在滿足他們好奇心的同時,讓他們學會欣賞歌劇、評論歌劇。
二、教學目標
(一)語言知識目標
1.詞匯
(1)學生能夠準確掌握并運用有關(guān)opera review的一些術(shù)語,如setting,plot,review等。
(2)學生能夠準確使用be set in,take place,story,at this time等描述故事背景。
(3)學生能夠準確使用act, cast,stage等詞描述演員角色
(4)學生能夠正確運用褒義、貶義及中性形容詞對演員及劇中人物進行評價。
2.語法
學生能夠使用正確的時態(tài)敘述故事。
3.功能
學生能夠使用恰當?shù)木湫捅磉_評論及其他觀點。
(二)語言技能目標
1.閱讀技能
(1)學生能夠通過略讀,利用關(guān)鍵信息總結(jié)段落大意。
(2)學生能夠初步了解段落主題句的作用及其語言結(jié)構(gòu)特征。
(3)學生能夠建構(gòu)“戲劇評論”這種文體的閱讀結(jié)構(gòu)圖式,并利用該圖示理解評論類文章。
2.寫作技能
(1)學生通過對于范文的觀察、模仿和老師的范例指導,在遣詞造句、組織語言方面有所提高。
(2)學生通過觀察、模仿范文的段落結(jié)構(gòu),學會對從各種渠道獲得的素材進行有機的組合。
(3)通過當堂有指導的仿寫和小組互評,使學生學會從謀篇布局、遣詞造句等方面修改自己的文章。
(三)學習策略目標
1.學生能夠進行觀察對比,總結(jié)opera review的寫作方法。
2.學生能夠通過模仿進行自主體驗學習。

通過對本課opera review 的學習,使學生關(guān)注不同文化背景下的人們對于歌劇的情感態(tài)度。

1.學生能夠使用恰當?shù)恼Z言表達對歌劇、人物、主題等的情感、態(tài)度。
2.通過小組互評,使學生在合作中互相學習,在分享中共同進步。
三、學情分析
高二年級學生對音樂的欣賞已經(jīng)有了一定的水準和自主學習的能力,多數(shù)同學在老師的提示下,結(jié)合上下文,在幾分鐘之內(nèi)就能理解單詞和文章的大意,但少數(shù)學生的知識儲備和知識水平還有欠缺。因此,筆者結(jié)合學生實際,在指導學生讀課文、理解劇情時,充分發(fā)揮引導者、組織者的作用,讓學生通過小組合作、探討、視頻欣賞等多種形式進行閱讀,并及時指導,由此更充分地激發(fā)學生對學習和探索的熱情。
四、教學重點及難點
1.了解revew 的文體特點并以此指導閱讀;訓練skimming, scanning, careful reading等閱讀微技能;
2.引導學生總結(jié)review 寫作中的共性問題;
3.對文章深層次的理解及細節(jié)的欣賞,認識及分析主人公的人物特征及人物性格。
五、教學步驟
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Show the students a picture of Zhang Yimou. And ask them the following questions.
Who is the person in the picture? What does he do? (Zhang Yimou. He is a famous director in China and also in the world.)
What has he directed? (Bid for the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing, the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games, for which he won the title of “The figures that move China in 2008”.)
Can you name some of his movies? (Raise the red lantern; Curse of the golden flower...)
Who played in his movie Curse of the golden flower? (Gong Li, Jay Chou, Chou Runfa starred in the movie. Or we can also say that Zhang Yimou cast them in the movie. )
2. Introduce the style of writing to the student.
If you want to watch one of Zhangs movies and you dont know if it is a good one or not, where can you find the information you want? (Ask your friends for opinions or you can also read a film review.)
What is a review? (A review is a report in a newspaper or magazine in which sb. gives their opinion of a book, play, film, etc.)
So what do you expect to read in an opera review? (Some background information, the plot of an opera, who stars in the opera and what people think of the opera ...)
Step 2 Skimming
Read the opera as quickly as possible and find out what it is about. What aspects of information can you find in the review? Were your guesses right?
(It is an opera review about Turandot staged in the Forbidden City. We can find some background information, the plot of an opera, who stars in the opera and what people think of the opera in the reading.)
Step 3 Reading aloud
Divide the passage into 4 parts and find out the main idea of each part.

Part 3 (Para 8): Other information about the opera

Read the passage again to find out some detailed information.

Setting: the Forbidden City
Plot: The story takes on the classic love triangle of the three main characters Turandot, Calaf and Liu. Liu loves Calaf, but Calaf has fallen in love with Turandot. Because Turandot does not want to get married, she declares that anyone who wants to marry her must answer her three questions. If the one cannot answer these questions, he will be killed.

Step 5 Careful reading
Read Paragraphs 4-6 and put the events of the story in the correct order.

Suppose one of you have watched Turandot. Your partner is asking you about the basic information about the opera. Make up a dialogue between the two.
[設(shè)計意圖]
第一步的設(shè)置起著warming-up的作用,給學生以內(nèi)容與詞匯上的準備,由此自然、快速地切入到閱讀內(nèi)容;通過第二步驟的快速閱讀,能幫助學生迅速把握住文章主要內(nèi)容;第三步是幫助學生梳理文章結(jié)構(gòu);第四步的細讀能更好地幫助學生把握內(nèi)容細節(jié);第五步更進一步地細讀故事的情節(jié),讓學生了解劇評中一定要包含作者的評論。
六、教學反思
本課是閱讀教學,閱讀的主要目的是通過對文本的研讀獲取必要的信息,通過略讀和跳讀等技巧,培養(yǎng)學生快速捕捉信息的能力,幫助學生更好地欣賞歌劇劇評。通過設(shè)計相關(guān)的練習,檢測和鞏固學生對課文的理解,幫助學生宏觀把握全文和復述課文。
