        A new study primary on the mechanical teaching team—building

        【Abstract】This paper deeply discusses the focus and construction measures of mechanical teaching team-building, which are oriented by the conception, design, realization and implementation of the project.

        CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate) engineering education mode is the achievement of international engineering education reform in recent years. There are some problems existing in the teaching team construction of colleges and universities.

        1. Sense of community team spirit is weak. Under the control of the idea of “university autonomy and academic freedom”, the universities formed the traditional education teaching of personality independence gradually, teacher's independence is the force to make the daily contact between teachers not close. And teachers are gathered in a team with the establishment of the teaching team, so there are comparisons of teaching and research performance between team members. Which have many problems in scientific research or teaching, and less communication between each other. The limited “cooperation” is carried out on the basis of the interests of balance, so the achievement made are limited.

        2. The structure of team teaching staff and structure of students is not reasonable. At present, many colleges and universities blindly change the teaching and research offices to “teaching team” under the political pressure, but there is no change in rule, regulations, and personnel structure. There are many inexperienced young teachers and very few experienced teachers, it is the ubiquity for aging of the backbone teachers. A lot of teaching teams lack of “l(fā)eaders”, there is few teachers who have professional building capacity, social influence, and resources integration capability. The formation of this kind of team learning-origin structure is deep-seated with “l(fā)ocal” and “margin”. It is difficult to cultivate innovative talents in the monotonous thought.

        3. The teaching team of the “double type teachers” is low-quality. Currently, the majority of college teachers graduated from the school directly with master's and doctoral degrees, but they lack experience in Enterprise. Many young university teachers have natural flaws in the professional knowledge reserve, especially in teaching knowledge and teaching skills. They lack of communication and interaction with the industries, there is a gap between the new teachers with the “double type teachers”.

        Reflections on mechanical teaching team-building in the background of CDIO

        1. Perspicuity of talent training concept

        “which way should we choose to carry out education reform.” Innovation of the teaching team is one of the problems we have to think about. We must to explore the original teaching idea and innovation in the background of CDIO, so we must be clear target of mechanical innovative training, which is to train the mechanical engineers with practical, complex as well as international competitiveness. Make the practice as a core of teaching process by implementing teaching methods. The teaching content should be geared to international standards, which lay a solid foundation for the students to enter the industry, and implementing the concept of project talents.

        2. Strengthen the teaching team-building Measures

        (1) Improvement of the system and incentive mechanism

        As a team, the teaching team needs to manage the rules and regulations, and stipulate the rights and duties of members. The team members should keep duties and strengthen goal assessment and management to promote the excellent talents to stand out. The principle of people oriented should be carried out to develop the teachers' potential and arouse the enthusiasm of teachers.

        (2) Teachers should know the spirits of work excellently, rigorous scholarship and unity cooperation that can serve for students and those organizations. They could improve the professional ethics and professionalism constantly as well as insist on the teaching ideas of student-oriented and student development. Guiding the team members to learn in cooperation and learn from each others, which can master a variety of teaching skills, excellent teaching basic skills, and hold creative teaching ability with strong research capabilities.

        (3) Carrying out teachers training to strengthen the international academic exchanges and expand horizons team, especially strengthen the internal training of young teachers. In addition, young teachers are directed by professors to carry out the teaching and scientific research as well as other aspects of the work, which can improve the whole quality of young teachers. Based on network resources platform, to guide the young teachers of teaching team, and encourage and support young teachers to go to the national key university study for the master's degrees. The colleges should take the arrangements for teachers to train students for executing their duties, which can effectively improve the quality of teachers.
