The inland is mainly covered with dense， mainly untouched forests with most villages and cities dotted around the picturesque coastline of the island. A single 51km long panoramic road runs along the coastline past one of Samui's most spectacular waterfalls and provides breath-taking views of sandy beaches， the azure blue sea， endless coconut tree plantations and tranquil fishermen's villages.

When entering the lobby of the main house， guests are immediately drawn to the magnificent vista over the Gulf of Thailand， dotted with a few intriguing looking mountainous， mossy green islands which just beckon to be explored. Only then will they become aware of the impressive grand lobby with its high， open ceiling allowing a cool breeze to pass through. One of the criteria of the design was to incorporate the wisdom of Feng Shui to ensure an unobstructed flow of energy.

The chosen signature treatment of the Baan Thai Spa， 'Tropical Samui Passage' reflects the history and culture of Samui. For over a century， coconuts have been the most valuable resource of the island. For the signature treatment， fresh local coconut is part of every step of the ritual. Coconut milk is mixed into the warm herbal bath to relax the body， followed by a body polish with freshly grated coconuts. For the acupressure massage， coconut shells are used and a warm body wrap melts away muscle tension and stress. The final Siamese aromatic massage with cold pressed coconut oil helps restore agility and energy.
