室內生自然Nature-inspired Interiors

室內設計方AvroKo Hospiality大手筆利用自然與有機材料，將一個生機盎然的大千自然遷入室內，頓時，日月?lián)Q新天。

細數(shù)室內的木材、磚、大理石、石頭及本地采購的玻璃，一應是回收品?，F(xiàn)存的舊有建筑，比如鉚結鋼梁或是水泥天花，沒有被“打入冷宮”不說，還時不時地成為主角兒閃亮一把，演足“古今穿越”的戲碼。

大堂，摻有Nacardo石英巖的比利時藍石頭地板邊緣鑲以從紐約地區(qū)舊倉庫和工廠回收的木料。接待桌由黑鋼片、仿古黃銅和堅實橡木做成，剛毅，冷峻，不茍言笑。每每電梯門緩緩開啟，以獨特藝術形式呈現(xiàn)的樓層號便裹挾著東道主的熱辣撲入眼簾。每層樓號設計各不同，如形似釘子等，皆是讓人眼前一亮，驚為天作。不經意掃一眼，卻能發(fā)現(xiàn)走廊壁櫥里的苔蘚長勢正旺，傲嬌地擴伸著生命的張力。

每扇房門旁，總偎依著一株高聳至天花的植物，活力迸發(fā)，讓人一踏進門，情緒就歡欣鼓舞起來。精雅的房間內，也滿是再生木料的蹤跡。飄窗上或臥或坐，曼哈頓十月暖陽躡手躡腳溜到身旁，笑靨如花。半瞇眼，透過锃亮窗玻璃看出去，人來車往的曼哈頓大街仿佛另一個世界的存在。Breccia Capria大理石、菇木、混凝土瓦和回收的玻璃面Napa磚……被天然材料左擁右簇的浴室，既不事雕琢又美如可觸，逗留多久，都仍戀戀。

Interior designs by AvroKo Hospitality bring the outside in with natural and organic materials

Reclaimed woods， bricks， marble， stone and locally-sourced glass throughout the interior. The original building's existing architecture， such as riveted steel beams or concrete ceilings， is highlighted when possible.

In the lobby， quartzite Nacardo stone complements a floor of Belgian blue stone with a border of reclaimed wood from old barns and factories in the New York area. The reception desk is made from blackened steel， antique brass and solid oak. The reclaimed oak ceiling is accented by suspended art inspired by nature. On every floor， unique artistic renditions of the floor numbers are revealed when the elevator doors open； each number is represented in a different design. Living moss grows in hallway niches.

Floor-to-ceiling slot of living plants alongside each door to boost guests' mood as they enter. Select rooms feature reclaimed wooden timbers and glass-enclosed window seats that extend from the building facade to allow guests a perch above Manhttan streets. Bathrooms are beautifully rendered in tactile natural materials such as Breccia Capria marble， mushroom wood， concrete tiles and reclaimed brick with glass-enclosed Napa.

秀外Exterior

三層高的樓體，綠意汪洋恣肆，如朝圣者對神靈的歌頌那般熱烈。景觀設計師達米安·哈里森運用AgaroSci技術創(chuàng)造的此番盛景，由不得人肅然起敬。十月暖風微醺，擺滿花盆的墻面，五株常春藤自如蔓延，萌發(fā)一派生機；一英里多的灌溉管道布排在4個區(qū)域內，甘做寂寂無聞的幕后；晝夜不息的水循環(huán)，被智能手機應用程序擺布得俯首帖耳。

在墻面安營扎寨的植物均設計成環(huán)保型，花盆、不銹鋼結構和灌溉系統(tǒng)等所有物件都可回收利用，因而免除了暴殄天物的嫌疑。每個花盆培土為多孔陶瓷土壤改良劑，有效保持土壤水分，促進土壤里的空氣流動，以此縮減水消耗量，成功節(jié)約超過25%的灌溉用水。經過加工的土壤混合物與常春藤一道兒，共同清掃周遭環(huán)境中的有害污染物。

科技果真是出神入化，無所不能的，甚至可以借助水溫來激活或關閉植物的生長周期，使其醒，使其夢。深秋時分，落英繽紛，植物入眠；早春季節(jié)，萬物復蘇，植物欣欣然張開雙眼。這樣知冷知熱地開合，簡直令普通植株相形見絀。

Three-story living green fa?ade created by landscape designer Damien Harrison using AgroSci technology is featured on the hotel's exterior. Living wall comprised of individually-planted pots each containing 5 Hedera helix （English ivy） plants， with over 1 mile of irrigation tubing in 4 zones； water cycles adjusted remotely through a smartphone app.

Entire wall planting is designed to be eco-friendly. Every component is recyclable， including the pots， stainless steel structure， and irrigation system. Each pot is planted with porous ceramic soil amendments that reduce water consumption by efficiently retaining water and promoting air movement in the soil， which results in a water-usage savings of over 25% when irrigating. Together the engineered soil mix and the English Ivy clean ambient air of harmful contaminants.

Technology allows plants to go in and out of dormancy using water temperature to activate and deactivate the growing cycles， effectively \"putting plants to bed\" later in the fall and \"waking plants up\" earlier in spring than typical plantings.

Jams能量場Room to Refuel

Helmed by critically-acclaimed Chef Jonathan Waxman， jams is a 100-seat restaurant and bar offering local and seasonal cuisine showcasing market-fresh， local and organic ingredients and purveyors. Interior features exposed white brick， exposed mechanicals in the ceiling， natural light， reclaimed oak， a quarry stone bar floor， and a soap stone bar top， all of which are accented by a plum-colored palette.

A communal space on the second floor is available for guests to use to relax and enjoy a drink or create a work space； Five business hubs， ranging from 200 to 255 square feet each， or larger， are available for more formalized gatherings， meetings or private dining. These rooms feature natural light， millwork décor， individual sound systems， 55'' TVs， the latest technology for business needs， and interactive surfaces. Three of the hubs may be combined to form one large 600-square- foot space； Access to two e-kiosks equipped with an iPad and printer.

The Mark Hotel， a beautiful 1927 landmark building located on New York's Upper East Side， housed at the corner of Madison Avenue and 77th Street. To go to The Met， one needs only to walk along the77th Street West， turn to the Fifth Avenue adjacent to the Central Park at the next intersection， and then walk north along the Fifth Avenue until the destination shows up； the whole journey takes less than 10 minutes. There is no hotel on the Upper East Side with such an advantageous setting. The Mark blends in well with the neighboring environment with an open attitude， while its unique interior design shows the elegant bearing of the Upper East Side.

原創(chuàng)的藝術Original Art

接手馬克酒店的設計工作之初，法國人雅克·葛蘭許（Jacques Grange）將風格定調為藝術、高貴、色彩、親切和幽默感，將藝術提在了首位。為此，雅克找到了好友皮埃爾·帕薩彭（Pierre Passebon），巴黎一家美術館的館長，兩人一起在朋友圈召集了一票兒藝術家，為馬克酒店量身打造專屬的藝術品。2009年設計完工時，酒店呈現(xiàn)出一種“個性十足，回味不絕”的效果，因為那是眾多藝術家獨特想象力的匯合。

進入大堂，Art Deco風格黑白琴鍵般的地面設計，譜寫出經典的第一印象。大堂的亮點是以色列設計師羅恩·阿拉德（Ron Arad）設計的吊燈，以彗星般的姿態(tài)下落，正下方的咖啡桌面仿佛因受撞擊而形成，靜態(tài)的作品有了速度和力量的美感，且“彗星”的意象與照明這一實用功能十分契合。

前臺右邊的角落是大堂的會客廳，面積不大，卻是藝術家們聯(lián)手打造的專屬空間。墻上的玻璃油畫名為《Red Mark》，是畫家Rachel Howard的一幅抽象表現(xiàn)主義作品，于2008年為馬克酒店著下專屬的紅色；一套定制的棕色沙發(fā)出自家具設計師Paul Mathieu之手；兩邊的茶幾呈“籠子”狀，搭配造型別致的梨木臺燈，皆由手工藝人AnneCorbiere和Vincent Corbiere夫婦制作；藝術家Mattia Bonetti包辦了墻上好玩兒的金屬球裝飾和散布大堂的壁燈。

When French designer Jacques Grange was commissioned to do the design work for The Mark， he set the style to the following factors： artistry， grandeur， color， intimacy and humor； here， he puts art in the first place. For this project， Grange worked closely with his partner and close friend， Pierre Passebon， who is the owner and curator of Galerie du Passage in Paris， to commission some of the world's finest artists to create one of a kind furnishings and artworks exclusively for The Mark Collection. When the work was finished in 2009， no one can walk away from the hotel without being deeply impressed， and such is the magic of the accumulated artistic fantasies.

The black and white keyboards design will be the first eye-catching impression of the hotel. The\"Ge-Off Sphere\" Lamp is The Mark's signature chandelier at the entrance of the lobby， designed by Israeli designer Ron Arad.The lamp comes crashing down like a comet to the coffee table underneath and seemingly creates a hole on the surface. This static work is endowed with the beauty of the speed and power. More over， the \"comet\" concept suits very well with the practical function of illumination.

In the front right corner is the lobby lounge， a medium-sized exclusive space created by the artists together.The glass canvas that hangs in the lobby of The Mark is called \"Red Mark\"， a fiery red work of modern abstract Expressionism produced by Rachel Howard in 2008 especially for the hotel； the custom-made brown sofa is the work of furniture designer Paul Mathieu； the table on both sides are cage-shaped， matched by the pear wood table lamp， all by the artisan couple， Anne Corbiere and Vincent Corbiere； and Mattia Bonetti designed the wall sconces and the \"Orbs\" that can be found in the lounge area of the lobby.

舒適客房VS先鋒酒廊Cozy Room VS Sharp Lounge

馬克酒店擁有106間客房和50間套房，客/套比的比例近2/1，客房面積在37平米和49平米之間，已經說明了酒店的定位。意大利Quagliotti品牌的亞麻床品，烏木或美國梧桐木家具，一個遙控器搞定照明、空調、娛樂和窗簾，靠近床頭的USB接口…客房首先是舒適方便的。床上方的《粉紅仙人掌》和套房客廳的《7月14號》是香奈兒藝術總監(jiān)卡爾·拉格斐（Karl Lagerfeld）為馬克酒店創(chuàng)作的攝影作品，恰如其分的藝術氣息表明著，這間溫馨的客房地處紐約最高雅社區(qū)的核心地段。

從最基本的房型開始，客房衛(wèi)生間的地面和墻面一律由純白意大利大理石打造，衛(wèi)浴五金選用英國最知名的Lefroy Brooks品牌，配備雙人洗手池、深浴缸和獨立的玻璃淋浴間。加熱的毛巾架方便烘干衣物，而平面電視和電話的配置幾乎就是向客人發(fā)出了泡澡邀請。

客房設計的出發(fā)點是用最好的品質滿足客人最本質的居住需求，整體風格平靜親切，營造家的私密感。而馬克酒廊則是整個酒店設計最前衛(wèi)的地方。今年4月故去的傳奇設計師Vladimir Kagan，自1949年以來曾服務過加里·庫珀、瑪麗蓮·夢露、安迪·沃霍爾、大衛(wèi)·鮑威等名人客戶，他為馬克酒廊設計了一款有趣的沙發(fā)椅，黑白相間的圖案遠看像牛皮，近看則是國家地圖的拼圖。和沙發(fā)椅搭配的是由Guy de Rougemont設計的酒吧桌，鏡子桌面的不規(guī)則形狀既打破常規(guī)界限，看似不經意的曲線向兩邊的沙發(fā)延伸，方便放置酒杯，又是人體工學上的考量。

只有在設計酒廊時，設計師面對的約束最少。大堂設計還要考慮到與1927年老建筑的共存，而酒廊是紐約各路時尚潮人在下班晚餐、看戲看展之后意猶未盡，想大家一起再喝一杯的去處，設計師們得以盡情發(fā)揮，打造一個麥迪遜大道最時髦兒的酒廊。

The Mark has 106 Rooms and 50 Suites， the room/suite ratio is close to 2/1. The regular guest rooms are between 37 and 49 square meters； such has expressed the hotel's positioning clearly. With furnishings of ebony， sycamore and nickel， fine Italian linens and bedding by Quagliotti； a Crestron panel that controls temperature， entertainment， shades and lighting with a single touch； and the bedside USB…No doubt that the rooms here are most soothing and technology-savvy. For The Mark， Chanel director Karl Lagerfeld contributed the print of three colored lights titled \"14th July\" and \"Pink Cactus\". The artistic flair shows that this cozy room is certainly in the heart of New York City's most elegant neighborhood.

Starting from the most basic rooms， the guests will take delight in the black-and-white marble bath featuring double wash basins， a deep-soaking tub and separate glass shower enclosure， both with polished nickel fittings by Lefroy Brooks， the renowned British maker. Other luxury touches include heated towel racks， a mirrored flat-screen television， separate telephone， and fine Italian toiletries formulated exclusively for The Mark.

The design motive of the rooms is to meet the most essential living needs of the guests with the best quality； the overall atmosphere is calm and friendly with a sense of home-like privacy. The Mark Bar is the most avant-garde venue in The Mark. Vladimir Kagan， who passed away this April， opened his first store in New York in 1949 and produced furniture for the likes of Gary Cooper， Marilyn Monroe， Andy Warhol and David Bowie； and for The Mark， Kagan created the free form sofa that can be found in The Mark bar， but the print is an optical illusion. From a far the fabric looks like cowhide， however on closer inspection country maps can be seen. Matching with the sofa is the mirror-desktop bar table with irregular shapes and the those seemingly inadvertent curves extending to both sides of the sofa， which makes it not only convenient for placing the glasses， but also not lacking in ergonomic considerations.

Only in the lounge design， are the designers faced with the minimum constraints. While the lobby design is required to take into account with the cohabitation with the 1927 building， the lounge is the place where New York fashionista and trendsetter go after dinners， shows and exhibitions when they could use more drinks. For this reason， designers can let their inspiration run wild into creating the most chic meeting spot on Madison Avenue.

私密而開放Private Yet Open

Being private and open seem like two contradictory concepts， however both are the much-desired values of the present-day luxury hotels. From the talk show queen Oprah， actor Russel Crowe to tennis star Djokovic， the Mark is favored by all these public figures because of its safety. The hotel's Michelin star restaurant， The Mark Restaurant， is neither in a storefront location nor has it a sign， because \"the private oasis in the bustling center\" is the positioning of the hotel design. At the same time， The Mark Hotel has utilized its geographical advantage to the full by connecting with the surrounding environment in order to facilitate enjoying the essence of New York for the guests.
