A Monday Reuters report stated that Elaine Wynn， whose shares are worth about US$900 million， said Steve Wynn breached a 2010 stockholder agreement when he removed her from the board last April. The suit further claims Steve Wynn is engaging in \"reckless， risk-taking behavior\" that could harm the company and expose it to legal challenges. A spokesman for Steve Wynn responded to the lawsuit stating that Elaine Wynn is \"a disappointed ex-wife who is seeking to tarnish the reputation of Wynn Resorts and Steve Wynn and their daughters.\" He further said her lawsuit was \"filled with lies and distortions.\"

This battle started in 2012 after Wynn Resorts forcibly bought out co-founder Kazuo Okada 's stake in the company at a roughly 30% discount in exchange for a promise to pay him US$1.9 billion in 10 years. A jury trial on the 2012 matter is currently scheduled to begin in February 2017.
