Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton break into the world outside of the fence and then they are taken into protective custody1 by a mysterious2 agency3 known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. Before long they find a big conspiracy4 plotted by the Bureau and try to stop it.
