嶺南大學社區(qū)學院是建筑師一系列繼光隆小學之后，在現(xiàn)代高密度的多層建筑中，體驗中國傳統(tǒng)合院空間關系的系列作品之一。這個設計同時將建筑主要量體拉高脫離地面，以保留了原有的地形草坡與原生樹種，并透過不同高度的序列合院串聯(lián)了原有校園的主要建筑群和宿舍區(qū)，成為學生在校園中的動線和活動的新核心。

設計以兩層長條形單邊走廊的塊體為基本模塊，以交錯迭加的方式形塑三度空間多層與多進的序列合院經驗，并同時保持傳統(tǒng)合院1-2層的空間尺度。在氣候炎熱潮濕的南方，這種交錯迭加的高層合院不但提供傳統(tǒng)空間的現(xiàn)代體驗，更提供了這個6層高的建筑量體在地面層、2層與4層多個具遮陽效果的合院與平臺，以及體量錯置后形成的大開口所引進的空氣對流，與戶外、半戶外空間。

設計利用12m的建筑跨距與15m的中庭合院為基本模數(shù)，形成南北軸線與東西軸線的二組的序列中庭，交匯于校園的精神核心—大學教堂。這一個序列的合院中庭串聯(lián)了南側主要校區(qū)與西北側的學生宿舍區(qū)，成為學生上下課必經的校園通道。

層樓高的建筑體量被分成3種策略性的高程：底層地面半地下的多功能廳連接了停車空間與車道；高層地面的序列中庭廣場與教室空間連接了南側校區(qū)的步行動線與學生活動；3層高的平臺廣場提供了高層的教學與實驗室之間的戶外空間與休憩場所。每兩個策略高程之間只有兩層的建筑空間，使得任何樓層的人都可以在上或下一層的范圍內到達戶外空間。

建筑的立面外形采用C字形的長條實墻面與開口的走廊面的虛實對比。C字形的教室空間面向外立面，走廊側面向中聽空間。走廊立面與半戶外樓梯間配合遮陽與遮雨的需求以金屬百葉與玻璃組合，以求在各個樓層的廊道空間體驗都能與戶外中庭和四周的山坡景觀結合。建筑原址為校園內少數(shù)留存自然草坡。大部分的龍眼樹、紫荊等原生樹種均在建筑的院落之間得以不同程度上的保留。（文字：王維仁）

使用者意見

小區(qū)學院和嶺南校園里其他建筑的最大的不同是它穿透的感覺。雖然是四層或六層的高低交錯，但好像走過一進又一進連在一起的院子，里面有大樹，階梯和草地。從每個地方看過去，都可透過院子開口看到周圍的山坡，校舍或校園廣場。走在二層或三層的廊道或天橋上覺得特別的好，有一種奇特的空間感，俯視下面的樹和草地院子。因為院子里有遮蔭又通風，大部分的時間在戶外的院子里或走廊上都覺得很舒服，冬天同學們也喜歡在首層的書店，或小教堂前的院子里曬太陽看書。（國際銀行金融學系研究生）

This project is one of a series of design researches that the architect had been working on: how to re-invent the traditional courtyard typology for contemporary multi-leveled urban conditions. It also aims to establish an innovative fabric system of classrooms to create a variety of open spaces at different levels. In the humid and hot weather of Southern China, it also provides shaded open spaces and opens up several two leveled openings allowing the cross ventilation to travel across the courtyards.

Rather than using large scale of tall blocks that conventional college design would do, this design identifies two-leveled linear module of classroom blocks, interlocks, rotate and overlap them to create a series of two-storied courtyard unit of 14 by 14 meters. In addition to a sequence of connected courtyards on the ground floor, such layout make most classrooms on the upper levels share a sense of sky-courtyard, and be able to have a terrace deck near-by each classroom courtyard. For a college that has nearly seven-stories high and sitting on a sloped site, the design moderates the scale of spaces and establish identities .By such arrangement the design also lifts most of the building mass from the ground and preserves the original contour and green slope,as well as keeping all original trees on the site.
