【Abstract】“Hamlet” is one of the great dramas of William Shakespeare. This paper by describing the relationship between Hamlet and his mother， the Ghost and his uncle， tries to approve that Oedipus complex is the main reason of Hamlet’s killing his uncle.

“Hamlet” is one of the famous works of William Shakespeare. In the play main character Hamlet has complex mentality. This complex mentality could be owing to his “Oedipus complex”. Traditional analysis of hamlet’s revenge is due to his anger to his mother and uncle’s murderess of his father. If that is the correct saying， there appears a question that why dose Hamlet always wants to kills his uncle but not his mother. As the matter of fact the queen and the new king both take part in the murderess. As a queen， murdering his king should be the unforgivable sing， but Hamlet always blames the murderess only on his uncle and never changes his love to his mother. In the third sentence in the play “Hamlet”， Hamlet says that “Ay madam， it is common” to the queen’s advice “good hamlet cast thy nighted colour off， and let thine eye look like a friend on Denmdark. Do not forever with thy vailed lids， Seek for thy noble father in the dust. Thou know’st tis commom， all that lives must die， Passing through nature to eternity.” At beginning of his conversation in the play when the queen advice him not to grieve to the old king. Hamlet’s answers that “ay madam this is common is the very gentle world”， is the very gentle saying as to the murderer of the old the king.

When the new king advices Hamlet to go to the Wittenberg the queen says “l(fā)et not thy mother lose her prayers Hamlet. I pray thee stay， stay with us， go not to Wittenberg.” Hamlet says “I shall in all my best obey you madam.” This shows Hamlet’s great obedient to his mother. And In the play when the Hamlet’s play is over and Hamlet’s obedient to his also can be approved bys his action of obeying his mother’s will after his play is over. It is very obvious that Hamlet knows very well about his mother’s sin but never mantes to kill his mother. This is because Hamlet loves this mother so much that he could forgives the queen.

The Ghost is the very mysterious character. In the whole play the Ghost is only seen by Hamlet and Horatio， Marcellus and Barnando， but when hamlet talks to the Ghost no one hears it. When Hamlet kills Polonius the Ghost appears again but it is seen only by hamlet. Therefore it can be doubted that weather the new king and queen killed the old king. Therefore it can be said that because of Hamlets Oedipus complex Hamlet creates the thoughts murderess of the new king and the queen in his mind for revenging his uncle for taking his mother away from him.

In psychoanalytic theory， the term Oedipus complex denotes the emotions and ideas that the mind keeps in the unconscious.

Therefore， Hamlet’s behaviors of revenging are acting unconscionably. He creates the Ghost in his mind and talks to him. According to the play it can be found that the feeling of Hamlet and the Ghost toward the queen and to the new king are totally the same. The ghost still loves the queen and never wants hamlet to revenge. However the Ghost wants Hamlet to kill the new king. These totally same as what hamlets thinks.Because of the Oedipus complex Hamlet wants to kill his uncle but the murderess in his mind is appearing unconsciously， therefore the Ghost stands for Hamlet and it can be said that the Ghost is the Hamlet himself and he lets the Ghost works for his own desire.The new king is Hamlet’s biggest enemy and his main target. In the play “Hamlet” Hamlet’ just wants to kill the new king. As it said above， if hamlet wants to revenge for his father’s death he should kill both the new king and his mother， because of Hamlet’s Oedipus complex his main target is just the new king. Hamlet wants to kill his uncle not because of his Oedipus complex. It can be said that the new king is hamlet’s love rival.

“A little more than kin， and less than kind” is hamlet’s first sentence in the play. That means “To call me son is more than our actual kinship warrants； and there is less than the natural feelings of such a relationship between us.”

Hamlet’s first sentence in the funeral is the relationship between his uncle， and not his sorrow of his father’s death. If he is the fealty son， he would says his woeful feeling and express his sadness to his father’s death .however he express his hate and anger to his uncle in his fist sentence in the play. Therefore hamlet’s main reason for the ravage is his love to his mother. After the old king was dead hamlet thinks he possess the same position as his uncle to gain the queen’s love， but the queen married the new king. Therefore in hamlet’s opinion his uncle takes his mother’s love away. So Hamlet can not except the reality and wants to kill his uncle and take his mother back..

Hamlet wants to reveng on his uncle because of his Oedipus complex. However the mind keeps in the unconscious because of the Oedipus complex， hamlet thinks that he revenging on his uncle for his father. As the matter of fact hamlet creating a Ghost and conversation for his own wish， and also creates the story which his uncle and his mother murdered his father. But after all he still loves his mother and kills his uncle for his own wish.
