A British woman who went to sleep with a migraine1 woke up feeling like a completely different person.

Thirty-eight-year-old Sarah Colwill was rushed to the hospital in 2010 because of severe episodic2 migraines. During her recovery， she woke up with a Chinese accent.

Reporter： She literally woke up， opened her mouth， and it was not her voice that came out.

Sarah Colwill： And a fifty-five-B， sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong-style. It’s just been such a horrible thing to go through.

She was diagnosed with foreign accent syndrome3—a rare， neurological4 condition with no clear cause.

The Inquisitr reports others who have suffered from the same change in voice had severe migraines. Only 61 cases have been identified since 1941. One explanation for the new tongue is that her migraines， which she experiences as many as 10 times or more per month， are leaving her with neurological damage. The condition usually follows traumatic5 brain injury or a stroke. Those with FAS also experience loss of vocabulary. But Colwill is not alone in her struggle.

And singer George Michael says he woke up from a coma with a temporary West Country accent in 2012.

Some cases have been known to clear up over time. Colwill says she is still looking for a cure， but for now， voice therapy is the only treatment available.

狀況相同的還有歌手喬治·邁克爾，去年他從一次昏迷中醒來(lái)后就發(fā)現(xiàn)自己在一段時(shí)間內(nèi)說(shuō)話帶有西部鄉(xiāng)村口音。

有些病例經(jīng)過(guò)一些時(shí)日就會(huì)康復(fù)?？茽柾栒f(shuō)她仍在尋求治愈的方法，但至今為止，語(yǔ)音治療是唯一的療法。
