Pan Tianshou took up the post of Chongqing Panxi National Art Academy’s president in 1944 while I was a sophomore of Traditional Chinese Painting Department. One day when I was painting in the classroom, Mr. Pan came in and gave me some enthusiastic approval and pertinent comments on my painting. I was so excited that even asked him for a painting, he smiled and said that he would paint me a picture after graduation. In 1947, when I went back my Alma Mater to visit Mr. Pan and mentioned that experence, he happily agreed to paint me a picture. I was moved deeply not onnly because he gave me an excellent painting but also his spirit of keeping promise.
1944年,潘天壽出任重慶盤溪國立藝專校長,校務雖忙,老校長還經(jīng)常到國畫教室轉(zhuǎn)轉(zhuǎn),對學生的習作進行評點指導。我當時是國畫科二年級學生,一天正在教室作畫,不知何時,潘校長站在了我背后,我靦腆地移開。校長仔細評點一番,并夸贊幾句,我十分興奮,不知天高地厚,竟開口向校長求一張畫,校長微笑著說:“等你們畢業(yè)后再講嘛。”其他同學向校長求畫,他也是同樣的回答。
1947年,我藝專畢業(yè)后在宜興一所中學任美術教師,利用假日回到母校杭州國立藝專(已從重慶遷回)看望潘校長、吳弗之老師、李先慎學長。未找著潘校長,在校的同學陳道坦、席德進幫我找,終于在后面平房中找到。潘校長正與一位老者對弈,我闖了進去,向潘校長鞠躬問好,校長略一欠身,問了我?guī)拙涔ぷ髑闆r,隨即專注投入對弈。我冷坐半晌,只好開口,說這次專程從宜興回母校,是想求校長一幅畫。我的聲音很低,校長兩眼直視棋局,手指夾著一粒棋子,“啪”的一聲按下棋子,并脫口說:“好!”我楞了會兒,這個“好”是回答我還是這顆棋子用得好?我茫然不知,只得悻悻告辭,校長又一次欠身。
次日,晨光曦微,我與三五同學沿西湖緩緩而行,離校不到百米之遙,突然有同學追蹤而至高呼我的名字,并說潘校長在國畫教室為我作畫了。我聞訊大喜過望,拔腿就往回跑。沖入教室,只見20余位陌生同學圍坐在長方形大畫案旁,鴉雀無聲,一女生在滋滋磨墨,潘校長站在案端,身前放了一張三尺宣紙。我擠進人群,校長看到了我,露出微微笑容。只見潘校長抬起如櫞大筆,在潔白的宣紙上“唰唰”、“唰唰”,濃淡交融,力透紙背,渾然一張荷葉躍然紙上;接著換筆作荷花,一朵怒放,一枝含苞,畫面由凝重雄渾瞬間轉(zhuǎn)為輕盈多姿;接著勁草數(shù)枝,穿插其間,大點小點散落根部。整個畫面,增一筆嫌多,減一筆則嫌少。學生們始而看得目瞪口呆,繼而轟然起立,掌聲如潮??吹贸隼闲iL也很開心,他緩緩用左手解開長衫紐扣,右手自上而下伸入長衫口袋,摸出一小盒印泥和印章,問了我一聲上款的提法,接著在他的落款處蓋了一方印。
1944年盤溪向潘校長的一次求畫,經(jīng)過動亂的三年后,終于在杭州實現(xiàn)了。事隔60余春秋,校長已作古,我也八十有五,這些往事迄今歷歷在目。乘畫冊付梓之際,將此故事隨冊刊入,以表達對恩師畫品、人品之景仰,及對自己成績的回報,同時也希望天下為人師者,讀此短文,有所啟示。
Wei Yuanbai was born in Anqing 1925. He was admitted by Chongqing Panxi National Art Academy in 1942 with the major of Traditional Chinese Painting and learned from Pan Tianshou, Fu Baoshi and Li Keran, etc. He is a member of China Artists Association, the director of Chinese Painters Association of Traditional Chinese Paintings, the honorable chairmen of Anqing Artists Association, etc. He has devoted himself to art education for more than 70 years since he graduated. His solo exhibitions were held in Anqing, Hefei and Beijing and his album was also published by People’s Fine Arts Publishing House.
韋遠柏(曾用名遠松),安慶市人,1925年出生,1942年考入重慶盤溪國立藝專中國畫系,師承著名國畫大師潘天壽、傅抱石、李可染、黎雄才、黃君壁等?,F(xiàn)為中國美術家協(xié)會會員,中國國畫家協(xié)會理事,安慶市政協(xié)書畫院顧問,安慶市美協(xié)名譽主席,安慶書畫院名譽院長。
1946年畢業(yè)后回家鄉(xiāng)安慶師專任教。建國后繼續(xù)從藝從教長達70年。2004年,安慶市文聯(lián)、美協(xié)在他家鄉(xiāng)安慶、合肥兩地先后舉辦《韋遠柏從藝六十周年回顧展》。2012年11月,由中國國家畫院、安慶市人民政府、人民美術出版社及俊安企業(yè)集團在北京國家畫院美術館舉辦《走進大自然從藝七十周年——韋遠柏畫展》,并同時由人民美術出版社首發(fā)《當代著名畫家韋遠柏畫集》。
