1. doubt n. 懷疑；疑惑，疑問

v. 懷疑，不相信，不信任

There is no doubt at all that we did the right thing.

(1) 表示義務(wù)、責(zé)任等：

They ought to apologize.

他們應(yīng)該道歉。

(2) 表示期望或可能發(fā)生的事：

Children ought to be able to read by the age of 7.

兒童7歲時應(yīng)該識字了。

(3) 表示勸告或建議：

You ought to have come to the meeting. It was too interesting.

(4) 表示可能發(fā)生的或真實(shí)的事情：

If he started out at nine, he ought to be here by now.
