北京電影學院逸夫影視藝術中心緊臨學院路，與重建的“燕京八景”之一——“薊門煙樹”隔路相望。除了后退紅線、建筑限高等通常設計要求外，該項目的設計難點還有避免西曬，以及使建筑從西側(cè)學院路和東側(cè)校園內(nèi)部都能方便進入。當然，建筑的內(nèi)部功能和外部條件僅僅提示出建筑的某些基本可能，而建筑最終形式的產(chǎn)生，則需要建筑師的創(chuàng)造性勞動。

在建筑設計中，我通常追求某種“規(guī)則”。這種“規(guī)則”不一定是唯一的，但是有理性基礎的。這種“規(guī)則”來自某種暗示，它不是平白直敘的，但又是易于理解與掌握的。其背后反映出的是建筑師的學識、品位及追求。

The Beijing Film Academy's Film & Tv Art Center borders Xue Yuan Road and is directly across the road from "Jimen Yanshu"-one of the famous "Eight views of Yanjing". Beside meeting the typical requirements of the building code-i.e. zoning strictures such as set-back and height limitations, other design considerations included avoiding a western exposure and securing access to the complex from both XueYuan Road to the west and the campus to the east.

But program requirements and site issues can only ofer a limited set of clues about the fnal possibilities of a design. In the end, a coherent solution requires creative contemplation on the part of the architect. Throughout the design process, I seek a sense of "order", an order that isn't necessarily unique, one based upon reason. This order should not be simplistic or two-dimensional. It should be easily understood and controllable. It is a refection, ultimately, of the architect’s knowledge, taste, and goals.
