A water bearer had two large pots. One of the pots was perfectly made and never leaked. The other pot had a crack[裂縫] in it， and by the time the water bearer reached his masters house， it had leaked much of the water and was only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily， with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots of water to his masters house. Of course， the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments[成就]. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection[瑕疵]， and miserable[痛苦的] that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

It spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream， “I am ashamed of myself， and I want to apologize to you.”

“Why？” asked the bearer. “What are you ashamed of？”

“I can only deliver half my load because this crack causes water to leak out all the way back to the house. Because of my flaws[缺點(diǎn)]， you dont get full value from your efforts，” the pot said.

The water bearer felt sorry for the cracked pot， “As we return to the house， I want you to pay attention to the beautiful flowers along the path.”

Indeed， as they went up the hill， the pot took notice of the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path. The bearer said， “Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path， but not on the other pots side？ Thats because I have always known about your flaw， and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path， and every day while we walk back from the stream， youve watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate[裝飾] my masters table. Without you being just the way you are， he would not have this beauty to grace his house.”

Each of us has our own unique flaws. Were all cracked pots. Dont be afraid of your flaws. Acknowledge[承認(rèn)] them， and you too can be the cause of beauty. Know that in our weakness， we find our strength.

一個(gè)挑水工有兩個(gè)大水罐——其中一個(gè)制作精良，從不漏水；另一個(gè)則有一條裂紋，等挑水工走到他主人家時(shí)，水都漏得差不多了，罐子只是半滿。

整整兩年，每天如是，挑水工只能給主人送去一罐半的水。當(dāng)然了，完好無(wú)缺的水罐對(duì)自己的表現(xiàn)相當(dāng)自豪。有裂紋的可憐水罐則自慚形穢，只能完成一半的使命讓它難過(guò)極了。

有一天，它在溪邊對(duì)挑水工說(shuō)：“我真為自己感到羞恥，我得向你道個(gè)歉?！?/p>

“為什么呢？”挑水工問(wèn)道，“是什么讓你感到羞愧？”

“我只能運(yùn)一半水，因?yàn)檫@條裂縫害我一直漏水，從這里到大屋灑了一路。都怪我不好，你的辛勞沒(méi)有得到相等的回報(bào)，”水罐說(shuō)。

挑水工很同情有裂紋的水罐，他說(shuō)：“等會(huì)兒我們回大屋的時(shí)候，我希望你留意一下沿途那些美麗的花兒?！?/p>

確實(shí)，在他們走上山時(shí)，水罐注意到路邊盛開(kāi)著美麗的野花。挑水工說(shuō)：“這一路上，只有你這邊開(kāi)著花，而另一個(gè)水罐那邊卻沒(méi)有花，你注意到了嗎？這是因?yàn)槲乙恢敝滥阌腥秉c(diǎn)，并變害為利，在你這邊的路上播下花種。每一天，當(dāng)我們從溪邊走回來(lái)時(shí)，你一直澆灌著它們。這兩年來(lái)，我總能采到美麗的野花，妝點(diǎn)主人的餐桌。假若沒(méi)有這樣的你，他的大屋里就不會(huì)有這份美麗的景致?！?/p>

我們每一個(gè)人都有自己特有的缺點(diǎn)。我們都是有裂紋的水罐。不要害怕你的缺點(diǎn)，接受它們，你也可以創(chuàng)造自己的美麗。要知道，正是在不足的地方，我們才能找到自己的優(yōu)勢(shì)所在。
