2011年4月9日，來自余姚市東風小學的五年級女生方涵，成為第六屆全球人居環(huán)境論壇大會上閃亮的主角。她以綠色環(huán)保為主題的英文演講，贏得了不同職業(yè)、不同國度、不同膚色的與會代表的熱烈掌聲。

由聯(lián)合國交流合作與協(xié)調(diào)委員會（CCC/UN）、聯(lián)合國經(jīng)濟與社會事務部（UNDESA）等參與發(fā)起的全球人居環(huán)境論壇，今年第一次設立了旨在引導青少年關(guān)注、參與、熱愛環(huán)保的“全球人居環(huán)境論壇環(huán)保小衛(wèi)士獎”，并在閉幕大會上安排青少年作主題演講。在全球人居環(huán)境論壇表彰活動專家委員會亞太考察組來余姚市實地考察時，專家們對余姚市東風小學20年如一日地致力于環(huán)保特色教育給予了高度評價。在確定余姚市入選本屆“全球綠色城市”后，專家委員會特地建議論壇組委會邀請余姚市東風小學學生代表參加第六屆全球人居環(huán)境論壇并發(fā)表主題演講。安瓦爾·喬杜里大使在邀請信中指出：“東風小學所開展的環(huán)保教育是余姚市作為范例城市的一大亮點，你在這方面又堪稱學生中的佼佼者，為此，我們誠意地和榮幸地邀請你作為中國的兒童代表和環(huán)保小衛(wèi)士出席第六屆全球人居環(huán)境論壇，發(fā)表演講，介紹經(jīng)驗，啟迪全社會。”方涵就這樣幸運地走上了這令人矚目的講壇。作為小學生參加這樣的全球論壇并發(fā)表演講，方涵同學在省內(nèi)甚至全國還是第一人。

閉幕大會在聯(lián)合國廣場千禧酒店外交官大廳舉行。當方涵用英語道出一串問候語的時候，大廳頓時安靜下來。

剛榮獲全球人居環(huán)境論壇第一個“環(huán)保小衛(wèi)士獎”的方涵用自我介紹的方式，開始了演講：“我叫方涵，來自中國。今天我演講的題目是《攜手1+6呵護我地球》?！?/p>

“我們都知道在數(shù)學上‘1+6’等于7，可是在我們學校，‘1+6’卻是一個代號、一種理念，她是我們‘手拉手綠色護衛(wèi)隊’的名字。如果說我就是‘1’，那么‘6’就是大家，我希望能夠用我們的一雙雙小手來拉動6個以上的許許多多大人共同參與環(huán)保行動?！?/p>

方涵用一件件事例，簡潔地敘述著她所在學校20年來的節(jié)能環(huán)保故事，這些故事既涉及頗具特色的節(jié)能課程、家庭活動，也展現(xiàn)了學校富有創(chuàng)意的公益活動和評價機制。方涵自在地講著，代表們輕松地聽著，當方涵講起學生們在家用抽水馬桶里放置可樂瓶節(jié)水時，聽眾們笑了。

方涵話題一轉(zhuǎn)，如數(shù)家珍地說起了自己學校綠色環(huán)保方面的榮譽：

“我們的學校被評為國內(nèi)環(huán)保最高獎——地球獎、全國綠色學校、全國低碳文明生活獎一等獎、聯(lián)合國可持續(xù)發(fā)展教育項目示范學校，我們的節(jié)能娃娃成功參加了北京節(jié)約型社會展覽會，央視大型科普電影《地球變暖了》攝制組到學校拍攝素材。人民日報、中央電視臺、中國科技網(wǎng)等30余家媒體都報道過我們‘1+6’護衛(wèi)隊的故事?！?/p>

會場里響起了輕輕的贊嘆聲。

方涵是個能歌善舞、活潑好學的陽光女孩，現(xiàn)擔任學校的大隊長和班級的班長。她熱愛學習，快樂成長，是老師的得力小助手。舞蹈、主持、寫作、鋼琴都是她的特長，特別擅長主持與舞蹈，曾擔任過余姚市少代會、余姚市少兒新春晚會等大型文藝晚會的主持人，是余姚市電視臺“七彩風鈴”欄目的金牌小主持人。舞蹈是她的最愛，她還加入了余姚市小百靈藝術(shù)團，參加了國際和國內(nèi)的很多舞蹈大賽，獲得了很多榮譽。

此刻，方涵自信地笑了。她舒了口氣，張開了雙手：

“這就是我們的故事。我們的小手拉動了大人們參與綠色城市的創(chuàng)建，家鄉(xiāng)余姚因為我們而更加美麗!我衷心希望世界各國的一雙雙小手能夠拉起更多更多的大手，來共同呵護我們的地球！我們相信，只要我們心懷綠色的夢想，明天的地球就會為我們放飛綠色的希望！”

熱烈的掌聲響徹大廳。與會的聯(lián)合國官員、各城市代表和學者們紛紛站了起來，用這樣特別的方式為方涵的演講“打分”。

主持閉幕大會的聯(lián)合國友好理事會主席、“服務地球終身成就獎”獲得者努爾·布朗博士走到方涵身邊，俯身握著方涵的手說：“謝謝你！你演講得比我們?nèi)魏稳硕己谩Ｄ愕难葜v，讓我們看到了中國的環(huán)保，看到了中國孩子們的力量！”□

Fifth-Grader Speaks at UN on Environment Protection

On April 8， 2011， Fang Han， a fifth-grade girl from Dongfeng Primary School of Yuyao City in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province， made a speech at closing of the Sixth Forum on Human Settlements held in New York. Her fluent English， elegant demeanor， and outstanding performance in the campaign of environmental education of her school gained prolonged applauses from the delegates from various countries.

The forum， sponsored by Communications Coordination Committee for the United Nations， United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs， invited Little Green Ambassadors to attend the event.

Dongfeng Primary School of Yuyao City was invited to send green little ambassadors to attend the forum and make a speech after a group of experts did a field study on the city’s green endeavors and achievements.

Fang Han was chosen to make the speech. It is believed she is the first primary school girl in Zhejiang and even in China to make such a speech at a UN forum. She was chosen because she is talented and sunny and because she has taken active part in the school’s green efforts. Moreover， she is good at dancing， writing， play piano， and emceeing school programs. In particular， as a dancer， she has participated in various dancing performances and won many a prize at national and international level.

The closing of the forum was held at Diplomat Ballroom of Millennium UN Plaza Hotel. When Fang Han started speaking in fluent English， the audience became quiet. She spoke first of the school’s environmental protection project which is called 1+6， that is， every student at the school aims to mobilize six adults to join them. Then she specified youngsters’ efforts by enumerating what they actually do， including lectures on energy conservation， family activities， public services organized by the school， and an appraisal system adopted by the school. The audience burst into laughter when Fang Han mentioned that youngsters put a Coke Cola bottle into the water tank of the flush toilet at home so as to save water.

Fang Han then introduced the audience to a full range of domestic and international honors the school had received for its efforts to protect environment. She reported the 1+6 green guards of the school had been widely covered in news media. CCTV， China’s largest television network， came to the school and collect video materials for a science film.

She concluded her speech with the following words: “This is our story. Our small hands hold those of adults to work with us in building a green city. Yuyao has become more beautiful because of us. I sincerely hope all the small hands across the world can hold more big hands so that we can protect our earth together. We believe that so long as we hold fast to our green dream， the earth of tomorrow will give us back green hopes!”

The audience gave Fang Han a standing ovation. Dr. Noel Brown， President and CEO of Friends of the United Nations， came to shake hands with Fang Han， congratulating her on making such a brilliant speech. He said “Thank you. You made the best speech here. You’ve made us see the environment protection undertakings in China and see the strength of Chinese youngsters! ” □
