This is a true story which happened in England．An old man， who had no children， felt lonely and decided to live in theSenior Center(養(yǎng) 老 院 )when he turned weaker and weaker．Afterheannounced thathe would sellhisluxurious(豪華的)house， hundreds of people who wanted to buy it came to him．At first， the old man made an offer of 80，000 pounds for the house，but soon the price rised to 100,000 pounds and still went higher．Yet the old man lookedgloomy(沮 喪 的)andsullen(悶 悶 不 樂 的 )．Actually， if it had not been for his bad health，he would not have made up his mind to sell the house，which accompanied him for more than half of his life．

One day，a plain young man visited the old man．He bent down a little and said honestly，“Grandpa， I also want to own this house， but I only have 10，000 pounds．Yet if you sell it to me， I promise you can still live here and be happy with me．We will drink tea， read newspaper， and take a walk every day together．Please believe in me， and I’ll try my best to take good care of you．” The old man smiled and nodded．He sold the house to the young man at a price of 10，000 pounds．

To realize a dream，the cruel competition and dishonestdeceits(欺騙)are usually not necessary．Sometimes， what really counts is love for others．

這是發(fā)生在英國(guó)的一個(gè)真實(shí)故事。有位孤獨(dú)的老人，無兒無女，又體弱多病，他決定搬到養(yǎng)老院去。老人宣布出售他豪華的房子，購買者聞?dòng)嵎鋼矶?。房子底價(jià)8萬英鎊，但人們很快就將它炒到了10萬英鎊，而且價(jià)錢還在不斷攀升，但老人仍然滿目憂郁。是的，要不是身體不好，他是不會(huì)賣掉這棟陪他度過大半生的房子的。

一天，一個(gè)衣著樸素的年輕人來到老人眼前，彎下腰，低聲說：“爺爺，我也很想買這棟房子，可我只有1萬英鎊?？墒牵绻逊孔淤u給我，我保證會(huì)讓您依舊生活在這里，和我一起喝茶、讀報(bào)、散步，天天都快快樂樂的。相信我，我會(huì)用整顆心來照顧您！”老人頷首微笑，把房子以1萬英鎊的價(jià)錢賣給了年輕人。

實(shí)現(xiàn)夢(mèng)想，不一定非得要冷酷地廝殺和欺詐，有時(shí)，只要你擁有一顆愛人之心就可以了。
