Ge Baodong was born in 1936. He is a calligrapher， a painter and an aesthetics theoristwith tremendous influence. His native place is Dongtai， Jiangsu province. He graduated fromthe department of Chinese painting of China Academy of Art in 1961. He is an associate professorof the school of fine arts of Hangzhou Normal University， a member of National Associationfor Comparative and Contrastive Studies between the Chineses and Foreign Languages andCultures， and the vice president of Zhejiang Colleges and Universities Beijing Opera Union.Mr. Ge was chosen into Who’s Who of Chinese Origin Worldwide in 1998. Many of his workshave owned prizes.
