伊洛納齊·讓·帕代雷夫斯基是波蘭鋼琴家，其名字一度等于鋼琴彈奏的最高境界。他生于波蘭被外國統(tǒng)治的時(shí)代，1913年移居美國。

第一次世界大戰(zhàn)期間，帕代雷夫斯基積極參與在巴黎的波蘭國民會議。1918年，波蘭再度獨(dú)立，帕代雷夫斯基成為第一任總理，代表國家出席巴黎和會。有人介紹他和法國總理喬治·克里蒙梭認(rèn)識。

克里蒙梭戲問：“你是不是著名鋼琴家帕代雷夫的堂兄弟?”

帕代雷夫斯基回答：“我就是那個(gè)著名鋼琴家?！?/p>

克里蒙梭說：“你做了總理?怎么淪落到這個(gè)地步!”

Ignacy Jan Paderewski was a Pohsh pianist whose name-was once synonymous with the highest level of pianovirtuosity. Born at a time when Poland was under foreignrule， he settled in the United States in 1913.

Dunng World War I， Paderewski became an activemember of the Pohsh National Committee in Pans In1918， Poland regained her independence， and Paderewskibecame its first prime minister.He thus representedPoland at the Paris Peace Conference. When he wasintroduced to Georges Clemenceau， his French counterpart，Clemenceau asked playfully， \"Are you a cousin of thefamous pianist Paderewski?\"

\"I am the famous pranist，\" Paderewski replied.

\"And you have become prime minister?\" Clemenceausaid. \"What a comedown ! \"
