這是一部由音樂開啟的愛爾蘭電影。賣花女Marketa Irglova被街頭藝人（Glen Hansard）的音樂所吸引，開始了一段蕩氣回腸的浪漫故事。他們不是王子和公主，各自有著瑣碎的生活，但是他們有個共同點，那就是對音樂的熱愛。在一次合奏中，他們找到了彼此間驚人的默契。這個發(fā)現(xiàn)讓他們興奮，很快他們找到了另外的一個同伴，組成了一個樂隊，并通過優(yōu)秀的表現(xiàn)得到了專業(yè)人士的肯定。與此同時，愛情也在逐漸萌芽。音樂是這部電影最大的亮點之一，塑造了極其浪漫唯美的氛圍。

關(guān)于音樂為主題的浪漫愛情劇頗受歡迎，繼Hugh Grant與Haley Bennett情人節(jié)熱檔的電影廣受好評后，同類型愛情喜劇Once也將延續(xù)這一模式悄然登場。這部由愛爾蘭Brit老將——前The Frames樂隊的靈魂Glen Hansard同捷克年輕才女——鋼琴家和創(chuàng)作人Marketa Irglova共同譜寫的愛情贊歌同樣是以音樂為主線來詮釋浪漫愛情與音樂之間“傳統(tǒng)”般的千絲萬縷的聯(lián)系。而電影的原聲大部分來自Glen Hansard的2006年專輯The Swell Season，這張也是同Marketa Irglova合作的、Hansard離開The Frames后個人的處女專輯，專輯中所有鋼琴及合聲都由Marketa Irglova一手包辦，而這些應該被看成是Once這部電影的一部分計劃。不管怎么說，以音樂為主線來貫穿電影的結(jié)構(gòu)是一件相當討巧的事情，畢竟不用費心去選擇那些難纏的主題音樂，聽聽音樂感受一下他們的情懷，還有什么比這更浪漫的……
